Thoreau said "there are thousands hacking a1t the branches of evil for every one who strikes at the root." Henry David must have been a pretty prescient motherfucker, because he was talking about your post, specifically.

I'm not saying he should have won the fight, because I had it scored as a draw. But by your reasoning, Chris Leben should win every fight that he doesn't get knocked the fuck out in.
Simply moving forward doesn't mean you're being effectively aggressive, and judging criteria includes the "effective" component that most people are overlooking who've convinced themselves that rampage actually won anything. Yes, rampage came forward, yes, he threw more Lyoto. But he also missed on a much higher percentage of those strikes, and the effectiveness of that--when the fight wasn't finished and Machida was more effective at the close of the bout, comes into question.
Again, I'm not saying Machida got robbed, but this was a draw.

He has the boring stalling type style..and we see it every time Machida fights! Run like a school girl until his opponent gets frustrated with chasing him! He did it against Rashad, T Silva, Shogun...now Rampage. He still thinks he's in a Karate tournament. Maybe when He realizes this, his fights will be exiting!

Since you are unimpressed and still bored when
Machida knocked two of those opponents the fuck out, I'm going to have to conclude that you're better off watching prison brawls and fraternity fights on youtube than actual mixed martial
artists. Trust me, you'll be happier. There won't be any of the confusing stuff to make your brain turn off.

Until then, all the judges see (in between naps) is Machida being chassed around the ring. I think until they start taking away points for stalling it will never be fixed. It's almost like a full contact kung fu tournament. People can dance around and not engage until the oppourtunity for a coutner punch is there. It makes for a boring fight, and close LOST decisions for the guy running backwards avoiding the fight.

If you can't tell the difference between setting up the counter and stalling, I'm even more convinced that you should stick to that felony fight bullshit on youtube.

He has never had octagon control or aggresiveness in his fights so what does he expect?
|
Minimally, he expects judges to understand what they're seeing. It's a lost cause for dipshit fans, but one could expect judges to be educated enough to understand that making an opponent miss a high percentage of strikes so that you can land a higher percentage is indeed octagon control.

For the record..I believe if a Fighter chooses NOT to engage in search of that perfect and riskless counterstrike and lands a couple of punches more that the other guy...HE SHOULD'NT be awarded the round! Now that's just my opinion. Be gentle.

For the record, I'm disappointed in your post. It seems like every time I think you've learned something by watching the sport, you pop up with this troll-worthy nonsense.
Setting up a counter is risk free? Is that why Liddell gets knocked out doing it? Is that why Shogun knocked Lyoto out doing it? Is it as risk free as watching a fight from your couch?

If you're going to disregard official judges stances--and I'm all in favor of that--I have rampage at 2-3-1 in the UFC as well. With this last fight as a draw.
