LOL, I never said that Duffee is ducking Antonio, it would be extremely stupid to say that, I was just saying that the UFC nuthuggers (nuthuggers and fans are 2 different things) are stupid enough to say that X fighter is ducking another one because he is UFC material.
I didnt say that in this board there are people that think like that (though we have 2 or 3), but in sites like Retardog there are thousands of them, so my post was only to make fun of the stupid nuthuggers.
And Sakara, oh come on, I am not that bad, there are many things I like about UFC actually, another thing is that I hate UFC blind nuthuggers and I dont buy at all what the UFC hype machine does, well and I think that Pride FC was light years ahead of UFC, but I dont hate. Thanks to UFC at least we can watch about 2 events per month.
Ah and one last thing, I already gave a rest to my critics towards UFC, and not only 1 day, but 2 days actually :-o. Sunday I didnt had Internet so I posted nothing and as far as I remember yesterday I did not posted anything bad about UFC.

I don't think anyone who is taken seriously on these boards really commits to a nationalistic type approach to any promotion and I don't think anyone really cares about the name of the promotion as long as they're professional, and put on great fights. (UFC does not equal Dana White) | Pashak just hates anything that doesn't include Fedor. If Fedor was in the UFC he would be the number 1 UFC nuthugger as he so eloquently calls it.

Obviously not, there are much more things about SF that I dislike than things that I like. Hell, I actually want Fedor to leave SF and go to UFC!
I am not UFC nuthugger not because Fedor does not fight there, If Fedor now goes to KSW I am going to say that KSW is an awesome organization? Of course not. I am not UFC nuthugger mainly because of the stupid BS that their president says, because they overhype a lot of fighters, because they cant make a show like the japanese organizations and because they sell MMA not as Martial Arts but as a brutal fight inside a cage.
However I like many fighters that are in UFC: Shogun, Mirko, Wandy, Nogueira, GSP, Machida, BJ Penn, JDS, Gomi, Akiyama among others.

IMHO he could have taken that fight and lost and gained more fans than he does winning his next fight with the exception that he gets a name in his next fight and k.os them in under 10 seconds. Like Ben Saunders made a huge fan out of me by taking the fitch fight with very little notice and for that matter Leben taking the Sexyama fight. Personally i feel fighters should be training atleast 46 weeks a year just like any other professional athlete at the top of their games so unless they've fought recently they should be able to take a fight on short notice

ok 46 may be a tad bit high but you know what I mean most professional athletetes train most of the year so that they may become the best

Todd Duffee wouldn't be wise to take a fight with any top HW's on short notice at this point, as for any fighter. I would have really liked to see him fight Silva though if he would have had a chance to prepare. After his last fight, I'm not sure what to think of him at the moment, but i'm looking forward to seeing what he does in his next performance. I just can't believe he didn't KO Russow with all those punches...
If he wants to get back into the UFC, he's going to have to fight real opponents and prove why he was there in the first place, although, I wouldn't mind seeing him in the smaller shows for a while if that's what he has to do to improve.

Mmmm I think its a bit different for fighters, they train for about 3 months specially for an opponent, they develop a game plan, work in special things in order to beat that opponent. And 4 days to develop a strategy against a fighter that is Top 10 in almost any ranking is not time enough. Duffee would have probably accepted a fight against someone of a lower level, but BigFoot is a serious opponent and if Duffee wants to beat him he needs enough time to prepare.
Talking about taking fights on short notice I remember how 2 or 3 years ago Manhoeff accepted a fight against Hunt in 1 day short notice and then managed to KO him in about 20 seconds. That was a huge surprise because at that time Hunt was still considered a very serious fighter with the best chin in MMA.

yeah Im not saying its the exactly the same as other sports but if I had just got cut from the ufc i might consider it. Like you know what Bigfoot's bringing to the table and if you train everything you can come up with a gameplan, you mate not be able to execute it as well as if you'd have that 2-3 months to train for it. And Duffee's game plan is the same for every fight= sprawl and brawl and exactly what he wants to do against Silva and im sure he's trained that a lot. Im just saying it could have a done a lot more good either way than bad if he would have taken the fight. Im also guessing he may have given training some time off since getting cut from the ufc as he had not definite fight plans ahead of him and that could be a reason why he didn't take the fight.

I don't understand why they didn't make this the original fight? Duffee is 6-1, Overeem is 28-25. Duffee could be a contender/champion one day, Overeem is what he is. The VP Talent Relations/Matchmaker at Strikeforce needs to be fired, for real. Feeding the big name fighters "never will be's" is bad business. Duffee/Silva should've been the original fight. If Duffee wins build him up as a Strikeforce fighter rather then a him being labeled UFC reject his whole time Strikeforce career. I didn't see Duffee's last UFC fight, but from what I heard he was winning until he got caught, which I don't really count that against him. So I think they should do that, if you agree, or disagree I'd love to hear or read your take on this matter
