| Mark Bocek turning the corner?
The guy has been hot and cold in the past, and Dustin Hazelet is probably not as good as people intially thought, but damn that sub was sick. I commend him on calling out George S but I actually hope Joe Silva builds him up. Does anyone else feel he could make a big splash in 2011?

the sad thing about a lot of submissions is they are there ALL DAY LONG, its just that guys aren't trained well enough to see or go for them. Thats why when guys like Demian Maia and Charles Oliviera come into the realm, they immediately start submitting guys like it was easy. Because they are hardwired for it. Demian Maia has changed since the Anderson Silva fight and I'm not so sure I like it.... he's trying to evolve and thats great and all, but it's causing him to lose his identity.
Bocek is one of those guys that is just staying true to what he knows and I love that. Notice he had full mount, and instead of popping out one of his eyeballs with GnP, he went straight for his bread and butter and it worked like a charm.
Kudos to Bocek, but he won't pull manuveurs like that on BJ Penn, Kenny Florian, or guys like Jim Miller. Not to take anything away from Bocek, but he hasn't quite pulled the football away from Charlie Brown. I would like to see him up against Jim Miller next since they both won this past weekend. Possibly in March?
Hazelett's only major downfall is that he fights out of Jorge Gurgel's camp. Where Black Belts in Jiu Jitsu are won with your fists. I'd love to see him go out and train with Eddie Bravo.

bocek already lost to jim miller i think on the same ppv that gsp best hardy, it was a great fight, i remember bitching about someone getting spiked in that fight but miller pulled out the decision, bocek is legit but im not sure either if he can pull that stuff off on the upper echelon but i say if he asked for it give it to him, i wasnt too impressed with the georege going up against denis siver in austrailia so bocek would be fine with me altough if they gave bocek the young charles olieviera that would probably be best

Bocek is a legit BJJ black belt, but as QOTSA420 mentioned, he's hot and cold. He got submitted by Mac Danzig because he got beat up throughout the fight and seemed like he wanted a way out.
He was very aggressive against Hazelett (who some thought would school him). He didn't even given Hazelett any breathing room at all, it was work the takedown and transition immediately from passes to submission. It was beautiful to watch as Hazelett was always one step behind in every transition.

Miller is 19-2, that dude deserves top contender status and if not then a fight with someone at the top like Florian. The guy has lost only to Maynard and Edgar, he damn well deserves some top of the line fights. Hey since everyone is saying that Sot is so great they should put Miller against him, I bet he would be willing to take that fight.
*Not that he cares but Miller gets a spot on my favorite fighters list*

HOSS-Bork, you should spend more time brushing up on your MMA history, and less time complementing guys on how young their penises taste.
