We wouldn't know who Frank Mir was if it wasn't for Brock and if Brock is overrated you can only imagine what Mir is. He is only mentioned near the top of the HW food chain because the MMA HW divisions are as deep as a mud puddle.

No offense Ice, but Mir was champ in 2004. I think you would be hard pressed to argue that the HW division had even near the depth it has now. I mean we are talking about a time in the UFC HW division when a win over Tank Abbott actually meant something.

As for the interim title Mir beat an injured, and past his prime Big Nog. You forgot to mention the next time he fought for the title and interim title he was absolutely destroyed with no resistence.

I am not trying to hate on Mir, but facts are facts and based on those facts my opinion is that he is overrated.

I dont find Mir overrated. hes a very skilled HW, great BJJ, and good stand-up. He has beaten some good opponents, and has lost,just like everyone. He sells fights very well, and I think he wont be to gun shy like he was against Cro Cop, hes easily one of the smartest fighters in the game today, just sometimes his skill cant match his mouth.

oh,Mir by whatever he feels like. Brendan is way over his head in this fight.

Big step up for Schaub at this point and a little early for it though I think he has a legitimate shot at beating Mir.

Frank Mir would be known even if Brock Lesnar woulda never even heard the word octagon. That fight he had at UFC 100 against Lesnar was for the title. So in addition to being a former champ he earned a title shot at the most hyped PPV in UFC history. If Brock never woulda entered the UFC that fight probably woulda been Frank Mir-Randy Coture. I'm thinking that fight woulda sold pretty well too.
