I have not taken my dislike for Anderson's conduct or Ed Soares into account on any of this. It is purely based on their fights. |
Before I said the word illegal blow I said that GSP beat much tougher competition as the original article in this thread says. If Anderson beat 8 midgets in a row defending his belt then it would not be as impressive. The quality of opponent has to be taken into account as does the weaknesses shown by each champion.
GSP may have weaknesses but they are nowhere near Anderson and Black House's problems as a whole with wrestlers. GSP beat one of the top 3 strikers in UFC history twice with Penn as well as a power striker with Alvez. He beat very decorated wrestlers in Koscheck and Fitch and Hughes. He beat great submission artists in Penn and to a lesser extent Serra.
Anderson beat some good opponents as well but again, the list is nowhere near what GSP has faced and dominated. Anderson being able to finish so many of these fighters is also due to them not being as well rounded.
Back to the original comment that pissed you off, GSP beating Penn twice is far more impressive then Forrest and James fucking Irvine. Stupid fucking opinion and dead wrong.
It is also incredibly arrogant to anoint yourself the winner of a discussion as its going on inside that thread and having a friend back you up with the same garbage. It cheapens this forum when the whole point of this place to begin with is try to have a logical discussion of the topic at hand. I may have said something that was stupid in your eyes but all you provided was a one liner ending in a bunch of ? marks where I at least tried to explain myself and keep the discussion going - until I was attacked anyway.
