| Joe Doerksen released from the UFC Bloody Elbow - Pound-for-Pound the Best in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Commentary, News and Community Quote:
Following his split decision loss to Dan Miller at UFC 124 last weekend, Joe Doerksen has been released by the UFC according to Five Ounces of Pain.
Doerksen went 2-8 over his entire UFC career, and was 1-2 in his most recent three-fight stint.
| One judge away from being 2-1 and still with the UFC. Sucks.

Joe Doerksen brings it every time, he's an exciting highly experienced fighter. I think Strikeforce should pick him up.

Too bad, win or lose, he always comes to fight.
Just looking at his record, and here are some of the people he beat:
Lee Murray, Denis Kang, Anthony Macias (somewhat impressive), Ed Herman, Patrick Cote, Tom Lawlor

Not a big fan of any fighter being let go after they fight a real close fight and lose by a Split decision.
This year he fought in April, May and June. He is a game fighter that any organization would be happy to have.
I would love to see him fight anywhere....back in Japan at Sengoku or in Canada maybe with the MFC or in the states in Bellator, KOTC or Strikeforce.
Mac Danzig is 2-4 in his last 6 and just got a big fight bonus and I am sure
Mac probably made $24,000 to show and $13k or $14k to win. (UFC 115 numbers) You could have Joe Doerkson fight another Joe Doerkson and he would still be cheaper than Mac Danzig.
Joe's last 3 fights have been far more entertaining than Danzig's last 3-4 fights.
Poor Joe...hope he comes back.

Poor Joe...hope he comes back. | Also usually enjoy Joe's fights, but not sure why you are bringing up Danzig, I would argue, that win or lose, Danzig also almost always puts on a good show. There are a lot more other fighters that I would be complaining about/mentioning instead of Danzig.
