This is truly sad. Gardner wins the olympic medal by beating the greatest greco-roman wrestler of all time in Karelin. 10 years later he's in the biggest loser.

So much of their life has been focused on diet being tied to specific external goals...once the goals are removed it's like a dam bursts, and they don't have the exercise routine to burn away the extra calories that they'd relied on in the past.
I hope he does well, in life if not on the show.

didnt he have his toe amputated? that probably affected his activeness and limiting his ability to work out severly causing him who is naturally chunky to gain weight on top of the fact that he doesnt have a day to day job being an olympic wrestling champion probably plays a role too.

I dont follow the show so I don't know if there's a winner or a loser but I would definately put money on this guy losing atleast the highest % of weight if not the most amount of lbs

Considering he has already shown the drive to become an elite level competitor he should be the hands down favorite right away.

Yeah this dude will win, no contest. I watch the show with my gf, and half the people on it are soooo whiny and lazy. This guy's obviously got (had?) a great work ethic, so he is going to crush those fatties.
