His fight against Machida was a HW fight, but B.J. weighed in the 190's. I can't see UFC ever allowing B.J. to fight above MW. I think that B.J. should just stick to fighting at WW and LW.

I remember when Pulver slammed BJ in their fight and BJ instinctively put his hand back of head so his head doesnt get rocked against the mat. I remeber thinking "man, the guy is einstein when it comes to fighting". Just as BJ claims, he is a natural born fighter and only guy who can fight against anyone and crazy enough to believe it. And believing goes a long way in fights.

Yeah, no way they would allow that, but I can see it could be a legit fight if they fought. In any case, this aint Pride and I dont see it happening.

Open Weight fights are a relic of the past that shouldn't happen in the modern MMA world. You could get away with it in the past when most of the Heavyweights were fairly unskilled with no technique, but now that the HWs are far more well rounded then in the NHB days the skill difference is too much to overcome.

Wow you guys are so pathetic even thinking BJ can beat Tim or anyone @ heavyweight. I can't even see him beating the middleweight champ. Common guys be realistic. I love BJ but lets not get carried away now! Let him win @ fight in his weighclass 1st. I know he was winning all those fights until he gased but conditioning is a big part of fighting.

he wasnt even hurt in that fight at hw or 205 or whatever it was at, bj is a solid man, i dont even him ever been rocked in any fight, that fight with hughes, hughes punched him in the face a shit load of times and bj was fine, and with tim im not saying bj couldnt beat him but the height probally would be to much , but u never no, but i give bj a shot at anyone after watching him fight that much above his weight

That's right. BJ has never been Koed and never even rocked. All the Pacific Islanders have great chin and BJ is no exception. The whole point of BJJ is so that smaller guys can beat the bigger guys. BJ can neutralize the fight by taking Tim to the ground and BJ's BJJ is one of the best in the world and certainly best in the UFC. Sure Tim claims he beat Monson on the ground (oh...that fucking 'tard Tim) but BJ is the man when it comes to ground fighting and I would never bet against BJ. Its a mismatch but it is something BJ can certainly overcome by his jiu jitsu skills.

Physically, I don't think that Penn would be able to support much more than 190-200 lbs and still be effective. He would have to take a lot of time off of training and would have to engage in mass - building workouts.
I just cannot see this happening ever.
Even getting to LHW would take a toll on him.
