This would be an awesome fight IF Wanderlei can manage to defend the takedown, however I just dont see that happening. I think you're assuming that Anderson has a better ground game than Wandi, and I would caution that's a pretty foolish assumption. Anderson has a BJJ BB from the Nogs, Wandi got his from Carlos. Both have BB's in Judo.

It also should be mentioned--as KevO ppointed out--that "Cheal" did get caught in a choke, and that--while Anderson's ribs weren't broken, as his fanboys would have you believe--he got caught by the worst-looking Anderson that we've seen in the UFC.

I think the fight is 50/50 at this point, particularly in light of how Sonnen's HRT might affect the fight. If they coach TUF, the fight is going to be in Nevada, and Kizer is already pissed at Sonnen for attempting to justify his oversight by stating he'd been cleared with HRT in Nevada, which is bullshit. I highly doubt Kizer is going to rubber-stamp the therapy based on the recommendation of some quack who isn't even an endocrinologist.

That could have an impact on Sonnen's performance in two ways: If he's actually 100% legitimate and not lying [hope nobody was drinking as they read that and the mere concept made shit come out their nose] he's got extra hoops to jump through just to get on a level-playing field, with the added concern that if he comes in even a tad high, he's risking getting pulled from the card; and if he's as full-of-shit about this as he has been about other statements he's made, he's going to have to convince a highly skeptical [and ideally more informed than the CA panel] of his fake need...and still with the understanding that if he comes in testing even a bit high, he's likely to be pulled from the card.

So if he needs to use it, he's going to need to be very careful. If he's using it as a PED, he's probably screwed, which is good.

Unless Kizer fucks this up, as he's fucked up so many things in the past.




anyway, I haven't written Wandi out of the picture. He's been on his back before with more dangerous grapplers, and he's done fine.

I completely agree with Rivethead. Sonnen's antics won't do him any favors with the powers that be regarding his current situation, and IF he can't win any meaningful fights in the future with accepted Testosterone levels he will be known as a farce. Wand has the potential to end this fight with a KO and possibly a sub. It's time Chael learns some humility.

I like the guy I think he's funny and talented and wish him the best of luck in his career, but he's fighting Wanderlei Silva. I've never pulled against him, never will. He's my Crocop.
