| (MMA 2006) Your Most Memorable Moments
This past year in the sport of MMA has been a great one. New champions were crowned, fighters did amazing things in the ring/cage. It was a banner year for the sport of MMA.
Now the question I ask you is................what will you remember about 2006 in the sport of MMA? What stands out to you, what have you seen that you won't forget for a long time. What made an impact on you this past year?

The most memorable was watching BJ get pounded by Matt. Then finding out that he broke his rib in the fight. I will never forget that disgusting feeling.... |

There were so many great moments. It's hard to pick, but the one that won't leave my mind was when I saw Rich Franklins nose after the Silva fight. Then when he looked up at the Jumbo Tron and saw it for the first time himself.

My most memorable moment is GSP winning the title, for a few reasons.
First, I am Canadian so I was insulted by Matt Hughes' arrogant comments pertaining to my country and its citizens, I lost a lot of respect for Hughes. I also found it to be hypocritical when Hughes made the inference that GSP was the one without class when he made his comments after the Penn/Hughes fight. I was impressed by GSPs grace in the aftermath - a trait typical to most Canadian athletes.
During the fight itself, I had goose bumps the whole time. When GSP started owning Hughes right from the opening bell, my adrenaline was pumping at full force. When Hughes faked the low blows, I started screaming at my TV because I was insensed at the prospect of Hughes faking his way to a NC and retaining his belt. When GSP dropped Hughes with the Superman punch and pounced on him I was going crazy, but when the round ended I was shitting bricks, because Hughes was going to have the opportunity to pull of yet another unlikely come back a la vs. Trigg and Penn. When the second round began, I was hoping that this did not happen. GSP came out and continued to dominate. When GSP kicked Country Breakfast in the head and then pounced on him again I jumped out of my seat. Then Big John waved it off and GSP pulled it off. His reaction was priceless, too. It was so nice to see how much winning the title meant to GSP and in the aftermath, the Montreal announcement was icing on the cake. It was also nice to see "The Crow" in tears after his boy pulled off what he coulld not.
And that is my memorable MMA moment of the year.

lots of great memerable moments this year, lol but to be honest the one that sticks out in my mind more than any other was the dewees blood bath, the image of blood pooring out of his head and trying to cover it with one hand while elbowing with the other is burned into my brain |
