| When Will WEC Stars Make UFC Debuts? Quote:
Now that the WEC has officially merged with the UFC, you must be wondering when your favorite World Extreme Cagefighters will be making their UFC debuts (or in some cases, UFC returns), right?
Well, I had a feeling you were thinking about this, so I decided to put together this nice little list of when the top ex-WEC fighters will be making the move over to the UFC.
UFC 125 -- Jan. 1
Mike Brown vs. Diego Nunes
Josh Grispi vs. Dustin Poirier
Fight for the Troops 2 -- Jan. 22
Mark Hominick vs. George Roop
Chan Sung Jung vs. Rani Yahya
UFC 126 -- Feb. 5
Antonio Banuelos vs. Miguel Torres
Chad Mendes vs. Michihiro Omigawa
Norifumi "Kid" Yammamoto vs. Demetrious Johnson
UFC 127 -- Feb. 27
Maciej Jewtuszko vs. Kurt Warburton
Rumored:
March 3:
Takeya Mizugaki vs. Francisco Rivera
Brian Bowles vs. Damacio Page
Note: The one name conspicuously missing from this list is Urijah Faber. That leads me to believe that the organization is at least considering having him and his long-time rival Dominick Cruz serve as coaches on the next season of The Ultimate Fighter. Or, they could just be waiting to see how the Torres vs. Banuelos fight turns out to determine if they can book the Torres vs. Faber fight we've been talking about for years. Either option sounds good to me.
I'm also curious to see who Joseph Benavidez gets matched up with in his first UFC fight. Only Eddie Wineland or Brad Pickett make sense from the fighters available.
Meanwhile, as we mentioned earlier in the week, featherweight champion Jose Aldo is hoping to make his UFC debut in March, while the final WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will face the winner of the Gray Maynard vs. Frankie Edgar fight in 2011.

With the Tito/Lil Nog fight being moved off of the Shogun/Rashad card I think that part of the reason they did that was to free up a co-main event slot for an Aldo title defense. But that is just purely me speculating here.
