Well we already know Dan Hardy can get knocked out so only time will tell. I got AJ in the standup department not to mention his wrestling might pose some issues for Hardy.

God, I hope so.

Chinwise, I remember him taking a couple of Josh Koscheck fastballs and not seeming too fazed by it, so I figure his his jaw isn't made of glass. He's a decent stylistic matchup for Hardy especially if he uses his wrestling (I think I remember hearing he was a JUCO National champ?)

If he can get his cardio and weight issues under control then he's a long night for any welterweight in the UFC.
I think this tells a lot about Anthony Johnson. I don't even think Hardy is a legitimate top 10 fighter, but I'm tired of Johnson struggling with weight and not living up to expectations. I like AJ, and I really, really, really despise fauxhawks, so while I'd love to see a dramatic first round KO of Hardy; I'd rather see a healthy, lean Johnson come in and dominate for three rounds before the finish, just so I can renew my transfer ticket for his bandwagon.

Agreed - how Johnson fights will be just as important as the result.

Tell you, if Rumble shows up out of shape though then he's in trouble. I think Hardy has more than enough zip in his strikes to TKO him if he's fatigued, or he could even just hunt-and-peck for three rounds to get the easy decision.

This would be tragic for two reasons: It would tar Rumble with the 'guy who got dominated by the last two guys to get tooled by GSP' brush - in addition to the 'suspect cardio' and 'salad dodger' labels he's already got. One more loss/missed weight after that and I suspect he'd get cut, which would be a criminal waste of potential.

The other reason would be that a dominant win by Hardy would arrest his downward slide and re-legitimise him as a possible contender. I personally would not like to see that.

Rule 3: NEVER attempt to mediate in a flame-war between GSP and BJ Penn nuthuggers debating GSP/Penn II. It won't end well.

I can honestly say that I dont like either fighter but I've been wanting these guys to fight for atleast a year now. Alves, Hardy and Johnson are 3 guys who probably are the 3 largest ww ands love to bang and i want to see all of em fight each other. This is going to be a sick fight unless it gets tarnished with bad cardio or missed weight. Like when Alves k.o'd Hughes it was sweet but i was indefferent to it as he was over by 9 lbs. Can't wait

I agree. In some ways this is a great match-up for Hardy and in others its a horrible one.

On the plus side, he's almost guaranteed to have a huge cardio advantage in this fight, and so if he can wear Johnson down in the first round I can see him out-striking him in the second for the TKO.

On the other hand, I agree he will be gun shy, especially with a known striker with KO power, and he wont want to open up in a big slugfest.

I see Hardy taking this by 2nd (t)ko.

I'll go with Rumble via KO in Rd. 1 I just think AJ is too big and strong for Hardy to handle. We'll see, I guess. I hope he gets his weight under control and comes in great shape. He's a Monster for WW. I think a loss for him would either send him packing or to the MW division.

Rumble will miss weight and/or gas and lose I think.
