Tim Sylvia Likely to Step In for Todd Duffee on Titan Fighting Championship 16

Tim Sylvia Likely to Step In for Todd Duffee on Titan Fighting Championship 16 - Bloody Elbow

Quote:

While it hasn't been officially announced by FEG, Todd Duffee has recently agreed to a heavyweight bout against K-1 and Strikeforce champ, Alistair Overeem on Dynamite!! 2010. People are already labeling it as his "impending sleep", as the 25-year-old took that fight on short notice and will be entering the bout as a huge underdog.

This makes his bout against Abe Wagner in jeopardy. Duffee is already scheduled to compete less than a month after Japan's New Year's Eve show, at Titan Fighting Championship 16, and with the good chance he is unable to headline the card, they already have a replacement fighter set. A source close to the fighter has informed BloodyElbow.com that former UFC champion, Tim Sylvia is already waiting in the wings to step in and headline TFC 16 against Wagner, as soon as the Duffee vs. Overeem bout becomes official.

Sylvia has had a slight fall from grace, coming in out-of-shape and uninterested, in a loss to Ray Mercer back in 2009, but he has picked it up and has racked up four straight victories since then. The two-time UFC heavyweight champion is looking to get back on the big show, and it looks like his next obstacle will be in the form of The Ultimate Fighter veteran, Abe Wagner.

Get Timmay back in the UFC and lets see what he's got. Mir v Sylvia? I'd watch it

If he dominates again, i'd be shocked if he wasnt in strike force or the UFC for his next match.

i bet if tim wins, his phone starts ringing bout contracts...

As much shit as he takes online, I still think Tim could be relevant in the HW division. I'd take his vs. Struve or Schaub right now.

There is no reason of why Tim should not easily win this fight, and it will be ridiculous if he gets a contract with SF or UFC after this fight, I mean, his opponent is Abe Wagner!!!!!!! Even Jimmy Ambriz is a more serious opponent.

Wasnt Sylvia scheduled to fight Pedro Rizzo? If he wins that fight then I agree that UFC should probably resign him. Though I doubt very much that he would be a threat to Cain or JDS.

Wagner via armbar

Tim's new nickname should be "garbage man" because all his fights are trash 2nd rate opponents.

He is exactly what the UFC needs in the HW division. The gap between the top fighters and the rest of the division is too big and makes for a lack of interesting matchups for the elite of the division. Outside of fighters like Cain, JDS, Brock and Carwin fighting eachother there is only a few fighters you can put in there with them and make it interesting. Tim is someone you could throw in there with them and make it relevant.
