Terrible match for Crocop, he has nothing to win a a lot to lose.
Brendan Schaub is not yet a huge superstar, he is not an important name, so if Mirko wins in paper it wont be anything impressive.
However if he loses again it will ANOTHER blow to his glorious career.
The worst thing is that Schaub can actually win this fight.
No doubt that Prime Mirko would destroy easily Schaub in the first round, but Mirko of today is extremely passive, he does not throw kicks anymore, he just waits and waits and waits.
I had some hopes after the Barry fight because for the first time we saw Mirko trying to be agressive (in 2nd and 3rd round), but after reading that he dominated Barry only because Pat had a broken hand and foot and after watching his terrible performance against Mir I dont have any hopes in seeing a strong agressive Croatian Cop.
About the LHK lets forget about it, he barely throws it anyway and its much slower than years ago so for fighters of today its easy to avoid that kick.
BTW as far as I remember Mirko said that he would only fight legends, he would not fight prospects anymore so in theory this match does not make any sense for him.
Mirko should fight Nogueira, that would be the best match for him because Nog is a very important name and I think Mirko would win the fight.

what. the. fuck. is going on? Make up your mind! I've seen Schaub have 3 different opponents for March in the last month....Is this a classic case of the "Strikeforce, I wont believe it till we get to the weigh in"?

5 years ago Schaub loses this fight every day. Today.... I actually think Schaub has a chance of playing the spoiler. Honestly, I think the Vegas oddsmakers might even favor Schaub in this one following Mirko's last fight with Mir. When the name of the game is beat the crap out of the other guy, they don't tend to back the guy who is asking if they can please go to the ground or get off the cage.

I like Schaub.
But if CroCop loses a fight against him he needs to just Hang It Up.
I don't see CroCop losing this fight at all, although I respect Brendan's skills, but What The Hell... weirder things have happened.

What a waste......I wanted too see Cro Cop vs Couture, Cro Cop Vs Nogueira, Cro Cop vs Liddell, Cro Cop Vs Sylvia, Cro Crop Vs Lesnar, Cro Cop Vs Carwin or Cro Cop Vs Nelson.

This is how I see this fight going down.
Fighters circle early trying to get eachothers timing. Cro-cop initiates a clinch against the cage. While clinched Cro-cop gently whispers into Chuck's ear "left high kick..." . Chuck's brain gazes back in the past through a haze of drug use, prostitutes and alcohol abuse to remember what it can about his fights with Rashad, Shogun, Franklin and Jackson. In a moment of self preservation Chuck's brain shuts down giving Cro-cop the victory via mythical phantom left high kick.

schuab is more hungry right now and i dont really know why crocop is fighting anymore. Smiling and conversating like he has in his last two fights would never have been seen 5 years ago by him...

the primary reason i'm going to give crocop the benefit of the doubt on this one is that when he's lost in the UFC, it's because he mentally shuts down against top-level talent. he got caught badly by GG, kneed in the balls two dozen times by the dirty frenchman, and looked so passive and gunshy against overeem, JDS and mir that he let himself get walked over. it's sad, but against lower and mid-level competition, he's turned it up and gotten the victories. maybe my judgement is really clouded here because i revere the guy, but a mid-tier fighter like schaub could be just what CC needs to fight like a fucking man and stop backpeddling into mediocrity
