| MMA fan Bryce Fishinghawk needs our help MMA fan Bryce Fishinghawk needs our help | MMAmadhouse.com Quote:
MMAmadhouse.com has learned of a sad story about a man named Bryce Fishinghawk. Bryce is a huge MMA fan and Owner/Creator of “Hawks Opinion” (MMA social site)
This is a plea to the MMA community to come together and help out a great guy and father of two young girls. On October 3rd 2010 Samantha Fishinghawk (Model) went to Fayetteville, Arkansas for a contest at a local event called Bike, Blues, and BBQ. She got on a motorcycle with a guy to do a loop for the show and he wrecked. She flew directly into a tree and died on impact leaving behind Bryce and their two childen. 4029tv.com News
Bryce’s message: “To make a long story short, My wife passed away recently on October 3rd of this year. We had been together for almost 7 years and we have 2 beautiful kids together. We never officially got married because she wanted a big wedding and I was content on giving her the wedding she wanted. So we were waiting until we had the money to afford it. Unfortunately I didn’t have a chance to give her that wedding.
My wife used my last name for everything…. She was known as Samantha Fishinghawk to everybody and we were known as husband and wife to everybody. Nobody knew any different.
Samantha didn’t have a good relationship with her dad and step mother. We didn’t want our kids growing up around or near them, so my wife and I moved away. We decided that we would only go and see her parents on Holidays and that we would NEVER leave our children unattended with them. Her dad has a record and that alone is enough to not want our kids around him.
So…. we didn’t have a relationship with these people, and since Samantha and I were not married when she passed, the funeral rights went automatically to him and then all the sudden he was in control. They have never liked me because they blame me for taking there daughter away… But the truth is it was their own fault and it was their daughters decision to get away from them.
Samantha was a GREAT Mom and knew what was best for our children. So at the funeral they wouldn’t let me help plan it… they didn’t know anything about Samantha from her adult life… They didn’t know her favorite songs, or how she wanted her funeral or anything. For example : My wife wanted a closed casket funeral… but they had a 24 hour viewing and an open casket funeral! They kicked me out of the family room and tried to kick me out of the whole funeral.
I didn’t take our daughters to the funeral because they are too young to see that, I was afraid it would traumatize them because there so young. So since they didn’t go, they decided to make there Momma a poster board each. The little boards had pictures of them, there Mom, and me and they colored the bored and drew on it. Well, we wanted to put the posters in there Momma’s casket and Samantha’s parent wouldn’t even let me put her daughters gifts in her casket. (I’m just trying to give you an idea of what kind of people they are)
So after he realized he had some control… then he took me to court to try and take control of my wife’s estate which involves some money and personal items which should all go to my kids. We have already gone to court over that and now were waiting to hear from the Judge for the decision.
I was recently in court because I had put a restraining order on them because they had been sneaking into the school and seeing my oldest daughter. They are not allowed to be near my kids. He has a record and he is not to be trusted around my kids in anyway. So, when I went to court I didn’t take my lawyer because I didnt think I needed him for this, and honestly I dont have the money. They had there lawyer though. I lost my case for the restraining order. At the end of the court their lawyer mentioned that they will be filing for custody of my oldest daughter! Why only the oldest? I don’t know… But my kids have been through hell and they have lost there Mom…. Now they wanna take her Daddy and Sister away from her too? That’s not good for the kids any way you look at it!
It’s hard enough to deal with my wife being gone, and my kids not having there Momma… We shouldn’t have to deal with all this other non sense just because some guy got a little power control. He absolutely doesn’t care about what the kids are going though or what damage he is causing them by doing all this.
I want to raise money is for lawyer fee’s. If there is any way you can help it would be much appreciated.”
Bryce has set up a PayPal account in which you can donate to his cause. I’m asking everyone, the entire MMA community. MMA fans, website owners and writers to come together and help Bryce in his fight for his childen. Please share this story with everyone you know!
| I wanted to post this in here because I wanted everyone to see it. Please take the time out of reading about our favorite ass-kicking machines and read this article. This is truly sad...
I don't know about anyone else, but this guy is a fellow fan like all of us and I will be donating a mere 20 dollars... all I could spare since I have to buy the PPV saturday but anything helps. Hope this guy makes it through this Hell.
Btw, the donation link is in the article link.

I'll raise him $20 when I get paid on Friday. Anything for a good cause, tragic loss and hearing about the In-Law's pulling that stunt makes me wanna go a couple rounds with the bag before bed.

Sad story but as long as he is a fit parent there's no way that any court would take his kids away from him.

That sucks for him but there are children out there that are starving and don't have parents, let alone a fit parent. My money can go to much better causes then a custody battle.

I too was skeptical, but Google is a wonderful thing for searching up backstories and verifying the tall tales we sometimes hear in todays day and age. I went thru a custody battle myself being the underdog in it and not having much of a chance, so I feel for him a little more than some would as a parent who walked down the lonely road he's going down. I dont have a drug addiction, I'm a good parent, my Son loves me, but I almost lost everything in Court just because I messed up and got into a Bar Brawl over some loudmouth drunk. However, we ended up settling it outside of a courtroom and all is well now. It's amazing how much smoother things will go if you just talk to the parties involved and find out what the issues are and what you can do to fix them.

I don't know about that. The judicial system in this country is screwed up IMO. For instance, I had a friend that was married with a child. The mother was on drugs, no job, cheated on my friend, and had been quoted as saying "she wished that God would just take their kid out of this world because she was afraid that she would hurt him if she had him all of the time."
Long story short....she got custody. Now this is a little different because we all know that it is almost impossible to get custody away from a mother in some areas of the country...obviously no matter what the case may be in my area!

I'm a lawyer who has been practicing for a while now, and this guy needs to take advantage of all the resources available to him before he goes asking people for money. Each state has a legal entity called Legal Services of (state). They provide low-cost and sometimes free representation for those with limited means and low income. Also, law firms and lawyers across the country (and in every state) take part in pro Bono legal programs. These programs provide free representation from top-notch lawyers to low-income people.
I'm sorry, but this guy does not appear to have exhausted the available resources for acquiring free or affordable representation before he decided to go hit people up for cash.
