A lot of these graphic t-shirts are sponsors and I have no problem with fighters wearing them; that's how a lot of them make most of their money. In certain mainstream TV interviews and press-conferences, they should be in semi-formal or formal attire. The weigh in, their walk out and post-fight, they could have sponsors on every part of their clothing.

I hate the high school kids I see running around town nowadays in the TapouT gear that have no idea what it represents and means.
| I grew up in Connecticut, and find it hilarious how many kids I see running around in Hartford Whalers hockey gear...when the Whale died before they were born, and none of them can name even one player who ever skated for them.

Either way, I think it should be the same for everyone. Its always weird when one guy shows up in a Versace suit and the other guy is wearing sweatpants and a T-Shirt that has like 15 flaming skulls and reflective tribal designs over the whole damn thing. I have nothing against fighters wearing these shirts that fist-pumping douche bags masturbate to, even though they are horrendously tacky and ugly, but I think a professional look during a press conference would be a definite image-booster for the sport in general.
I also can't picture Joe Rogan in a suit. Something just seems so wrong with that.

Most awesome old school logo! I'm not being sarcastic. The logo made so much sense with the H for hartford, W for whalers and the whale tail. I'm from Toronto and I would've worn it if I didn't end up losing interest in hockey. |

It would be preferable for them to wear suits or at least blazers but as long as they have a minimum of polo or button up shirts on then that would make a huge difference.

I just think it's hilarious to see kids who were 3 when the team folded and couldn't name a single player if you paid them.

You are dead on tho with that, if Sponsors dont pay their dues to Zuffa, they get kicked to the curb in a heartbeat. Didnt Shane Carwin lose a sponsor over Dana banning them and he threw a fit about it?

Attire is a social construct used to keep the lower classes down. As can be seen by people saying "Joe Rogan looks like a bum" because he wears a long sleeve t-shirt sometimes instead of a collared shirt or suit. It's so arbitrary -- just 200 years ago "professional looking" people were wearing wigs. As long as people are clean and clothed and not showing their underwear, no shits should be given.
That's what I want to say, but unfortunately it's so inculcated that arguing against it is useless. If the true goal of the UFC is to gain respect and more fans, their fighters should have to adopt a presentable attire whenever they are in a media-present situation.
