Default Pettis' "The Kick" makes ESPN's top ten plays of the year
I was watchin sportscenter this morning and they showed their Top Ten plays of 2010 and at number 8 was "The Kick". Thought it was pretty cool that 1.) They gave MMA a spot on this list (it was the only combat sport highlight featured on the list) and 2.) It wasn't some mediocre KO from UFC. I think this kind of shows that MMA, not just UFC, is indeed making a little headway further into mainstream.

ha everybody is talking about "The Kick" like its something hard to execute , I try that on my little sister today and its very easy to execute... She didn't have chance

and i like how the original poster talks about how it wasnt a weak ufc KO..............

you do realize that WEC is zuffa owned, generally viewed as ufc lite, and is absorbed into the ufc, that was the last fight under the wec banner, and even there one ppv was run by ufc guys even on commentary??

im just saying.........

I fucking looved the kick, to judge the timing and distance to land that kick was very impressive. Its one thing to joke around and throw it, but to land it is different. And him landing it in the last WEC fight, in the last round, to win the title is an awsome way to go out.

Anything rare in MMA is beautiful IMO. A fight can end on very short notice at any moment. If they end in a spectacular and rare way that we havn't seen before, its like the same as remembering a sweet play that happened in your favourite sport, its like imprinted into your brain.

Inverted Triangles, Flying Scissor Heel Hooks, Peruvian Neckties, "The Kick", Double KO's, Hell even Gogo's, these are amazing moments that we will be talking about for a while.
