| Spoilers McKee's UFC debut
Didn't see the fight but saw he lost via Decision. After all the shit he talks, he comes out and loses to Volkman. The dude's knickname is Christmas for Christ's sake.
Not knocking Volkman, this is more about how much shit McKee talked and the laid an egg. I hope he's 1 and done.
Hell, he's probably already blamed racism for his defeat.

I bought in to the mandingo hype sort of and was kinda surprised with the outcome. Hopefully he bounces back, I really dig his attitude.

The ridiculous amount of hype for YEEEEEARS McKee has gotten "mostly because he WASN'T in the UFC" was burst tonight and the funny thing is, he lost an SD which will probably be his excuse come tomorrow, but the silverlining is that he's won 3 split decisions in his career and pulled two draws which could've gone either way and if you look at it like that, he very easily could have five extra losses, he's also got 18 career decision wins which could've gone alot of different ways, which knocks alot of that lustre off his record, which is padded at best with alot of periphery fighters.
I don't think they'll cut him YET, but he's probably one of the most overhyped and OVERRATED fighters on the planet and while he's got some amazing wrestling skill but he's absolutely nothing more and at his age with his one dimensional skillset and the advanced levels of competition he'll be faced with in the UFC, with his history of going to decisions more often than not, I think he may only have one shot left with ZUFFA. Considering the amount of talk he does on top of it all, I wouldn't be surprised if Dana cuts him lose after the next one, or too shocked if he gets cut tomorrow. No matter what, he'll HAVE to impress next time and he should strive to finish the fight.

LOL at Mckee
thought for the right money he was gonna show his talent and brutalize JV because he wasnt a real fighter and fought only for the glory of being a fighter lol
Jeez, if Mckee couldnt "knock Volkmann's head off his shoulders" let alone out-grapple him, he has no chance in hell against mid-carders
but hey good luck in ur next fight, u mite need it if u dont wanna get cut

I really can't stand McKee anyway.
Good riddance if they do, another loss if they don't.....I don't see the negative, as I won't have to watch either fight when it's buried on the undercard so far they fight at 2 in the afternoon.

When I think overhyped....I think of a guy who gets main card status....or at least prelim fight aired on TV.
The only hype that he has garnered is the hype he generated by himself and the dislike people have for him because of his style.
He has internet and self promotion hype, but no UFC or company or manager hype like a lot of other UFC fighters get. I am sure once the salaries are released he isn't making any extra money...I expect he makes the generic first time UFC amount...probably between $4000 and $8000.
I look forward to seeing this fight. Volkman is no push over....he was too small for 170...and 155 is the right weight class for him. Quote:

It is about winning and not about trying to kill your opponent.
Obviously Id rather watch someone try and finish a fight, but I can see how he sees the sport evolving to people trying to win and not getting injured....especially not trying to get injured or cut making small show money.
