As much as I like Randy, I just don't see how he has any place in the division's top tiers, much less fighting lyoto. The only losses lyoto has are vs two UFC champs. Randy should be rematching Vera to see who gets cut. The Toney fight is completely irrelevant. That said, Randy has surprised everyone more than a handful of times. My prediction is Randy gets KO'd deeply into retirement.

this is BS. Randy beats vera, coleman and toney and deserves a shot at machida? the nostalgia effect of couture has worn thin on me. Machida retires couture in front of 50,000 people.

well by your logic It's BS that shogun got Machida after coleman anf Chuck and Machida was champ... not on a 2 fight losing streak. so to me your logic just sucks n this fight is gunna be epic and one that couture could most definitly shock the world in again!

Yay for Randy fans I guess. I'm not a huge fan of em, and I have no idea why he gets these fights that other guys would dream to have. Seems unfair, sure a lot of people are pumped, but sucks to me, rather see Machida against someone relevant.

I don't see who else they really have for Machida to fight that would be more relevant. Evans, Shogun, Jones, Bader, Nog, Forrest and Franklin all have fights booked. Thiago already got worked by Machida, and he just fought Rampage, so who else? Couture is pretty much the next best step for Machida, especially coming off 2 losses. It's better having him fight a legend who may be past his prime than fighting a can who hasn't earned a shot against him.

Would of agreed with you a year ago, but Machida is on a 2 fight losing streak, and in many peoples eyes (including mine) a 3 fight losing streak.

I got Machida winning, but anyone saying Randy doesn't deserve this at this point in their careers is wrong

Why is it that when a 40 something Couture beat Tim Sylvia he "shocked the world"...but when a 40 something ray mercer did it, it was because Tim is a talentless pieces of crap?

oh sorry....were you referring to when couture beat coleman as "shocking the world"?

When Mercer did it it was timmy being stupid and under prepared in a shitty promotion Randy's done it countless times but Liddel and Sylvia were the ones for me... but ur completly ignoring what my post was about and jumping on to somthing else, Me saying shock the world.. wich has happend but not why we are exchanging words, get back to the point why aint Randy worthy of Machida?
