Regardless, who gives a fuck. Chris Leben had an offnight, big fucking deal, story of my life is having offnights and not performing up to my caliber. He isnt making excuses for the loss and for all of you thinking he's making excuses, he is not and its true. Cutting weight is hell on your body, so keep telling yourself that this shit doesnt actually happen more often than not.

Who cares! both of them move on with their careers and get to fight another day. I dont care what any of you say but a fighting career isnt always success, even if they are undefeated they probably do not feel that way and want to fix the mistakes they made so that they can prove even more of a point in the next go round.

Stop being so sensitive to the truths of fighting and what it takes to compete. Alot of you guys have no idea how easy it is for you to post and say "he didnt do this or that" well get in there and fucking show us how its done if you think you can do it better.

Is this a joke? And to help clarify, the question applies to sentences 1-3.

This isn't the first time Chris has come out to a fight and looked rough for a lack of a better term. Perhaps he is cutting to much weight or not doing it properly something him and his trainers should look into.

Either way this is story really does diminish Stann's win a bit would have been nice had they just let it slide and move on.

Also if Chris was really that sick I think he would have earned enough credit with Dana/UFC for jumping in on short notice for his previous fight to sit this one out.

First isn't this his COACH saying he was sick and not Chris himself?

Second this is how fighters get paid fighting so if he has a sickness and believes in his heart he can fight through it why would he not try? We all know how Mr. Dana is if Chris comes out the day of the fight and says I'm sick I can't go Dana is going to publicly degrade Chris and put him on the backburner.

Third I didn't read anything that said the reason for his loss was because he was sick.
...Exactly....Great post!!

This happens all the time after a loss. The coach comes out and says "I'm not making any excuses, but...", immediately followed by some sort of excuse. I'm not accusing Leben of anything, but just because you say something isn't an excuse doesn't make it ok to make all kinds of excuses. Ed Soares does this quite often, as I recall.

Yes, Phil is an excellent wrestler....and Davis dominated Stann....Stann, even admitted to Joe Silva that he didn't want to face a wrestler in his next fight....come on, what the hell? One shouldn't pick and choose like that.....What about after that, tell Joe Silva you don't want to face a striker, because he hits too hard?

Leben is still someone I respect, and would gladly pay money to see him fight any time. He looked off, but Stann brought the thunder and put him down. So what? Good for Stann, and Leben will be back, and will likely surprise us. WAR CRIPPLER!

In the dude's defense I do remember Stann saying that too, but for the life of me I can't find a transcript for the interview. Doesn't help much I know but for what it's worth.......

Wasn't his next fight against a top wrestler again as well?
