Phil Baroni Released by UFC, but Already Being Recruited | 5thRound.com

When one cage door slams shut, another one opens. While middleweight Phil Baroni has been released by the UFC, it appears “The New York Bad Ass” won’t be standing in the unemployment line anytime soon.

“Back to the drawing board,” Baroni told Versus.

Although Baroni has never held a major world title and owns a mundane 13-13 professional record, the chiseled vet is one of the sport’s more recognizable figures.

This was his second stint with the world’s premier mixed martial arts organization.

The slugger suffered a TKO loss to up-and-comer Brad Tavares this past Saturday at UFC 125. Prior to that, he ended his five-year Octagon hiatus by dropping a unanimous decision loss to Amir Sadollah at UFC 106 in November 2009.

According to reports, no less than five MMA promotions have already requested Baroni’s services.

Ah you see? One door closes as several open IMO Baroni is at that point where he can give anyone a hard time, but won't fight with the elite like he used to. Won't stop me from watching him though as he's never remotely resembled a conservative or boring fighter to me.

Phil needs to concentrate on just making some money with the remaining fights he has left in him , He wont be relevant in the UFC again , Times and MMA moved on , And Baroni didn't
