Antonio Mckee's debut on the "big leagues" ended up in a split-decision loss to Jacob Volkmann on UFC 125, and it looks like he won't be getting another chance to redeem himself. Much like his Bodyshop teammate Jason High, the former MFC champion has received his walking papers despite having only one decision loss with the promotion. Five Ounces of Pain has it:
Antonio McKee has been cut from the company’s roster after a single split-decision defeat inside the Octagon. The loss was the first for McKee, who was said to have originally inked a four-year deal with the organization, since February 2003.
News of the professional separation was confirmed by Five Ounces of Pain with sources
Ya talk about a quick turnaround. How long ago was it that he said he would be LW champ by the end of the year? Maybe 10 days ago? Now he's gone after one split decision. From watching the fight, it certainly seemed like he had the first fight jitters, and started looking much better once he settled in. Its a shame the UFC cut him loose so fast.
At his age does he even bother trying a comeback or is he done?
Damn that sucks for Mckee, not a fan of his but his last fight in the MFC he did show some ruthless aggression. Really thought he'd bring that to the UFC. Guess he didn't. I didn't see the fight, but maybe he thought it best to play safe and get the win for his first fight? Anyway it's Dana's company so I suppose he can do whatever he wants to. Still think Mckee is a danger fighter for most fighters, when he's fighting up to his potential. Hope he gets a shot in Japan or strikeforce, maybe even bellator, a wrestling match with Ben Asktrin would be interesting. I wish him the best of luck.

23Xtreme beat me to it...Dana did say that he will be cutting people who talk smack and don't deliver. I know hearing McKee talking all that talk is fun to hear and entertaining but why don't you wait till you win your first UFC bout before you run your mouth so much?
