AA has been shotty and Barnett runs into steroid problems constantly in the US. Antonio Silva, Kharitinov and Rogers are not as marketable.
Werdum's name, on the other hand, is still in the headlines as the guy to dethrone the greatest fighter of all time. If Werdum beats Overeem (again) and Fedor (again) and let's say beats a Barnett or an Arlovski from the other side of the bracket, he would easily establish himself as the #1 HW. Plus, I can see him actually staying with the company and defending the title.
Obviously, if Fedor didn't have these management contract negotiations issues, it would be best for strikeforce if he wins it but as we have seen, the issues will continue. | See, I think the best thing for Strikeforce is for AO to win the whole thing and test clean while doing so. It would, as you said, legitimize him as a title holder. It would also catapult him to the top of the HW heap while shutting up all the steroid talk. And like it or not, he is a bit more marketable commodity than Werdum.

Let's just get positive here, nobody assumed anything, when fedderer is in same side that is nadal for semifinals, instead of final, nobody disrespects the other 5 players that they play to get to semis, it is just most of times happen that they play each other, and most funs want them to play in finals, so it is more exciting and interesting. Same here, three favorites, in one side, in other side barnett might be favorite, but he has some much issues that, I would prefer one of those werdum, fedor or overeem fighting on barnett's bracket. Let's just pray that shit happens.

The brackets are actually fairly even, Fedor will probably withdraw and one of the alternates ( Daniel Cormier ) will step in. This looks like a fantastic tourney on paper but it could turn into a cluster fuck really quick. I am hoping all goes as planned, MMA tournements are kinda obsolete in today's era but it is always cool to get nostaligic every once in a while.

Yes,in the beginning of the article is claims Fedor to be in the second round already, thats awesome. I bet BigFoot feels good reading that
Everyone in this tournament could win,but you know they wont unless the left bracket bows out. AA is a shadow of himself, Rogers was destroyed in his last two fights, Khar hasnt won much in the last few years, and was beaten in K-1 just a while ago, and then Barnett is,and always will be considered a cheater. Chances are Fedor doesnt make it into the second round due to M-1, so AO and Werdum are left, AO will probably take a leave to fight in Japan, with DREAM or K-1. This tournament is reaking of disaster, cant wait.

there's a lot of potential rematches here now that i actually think about it.
one of which is fedor and AA. I actually kinda wanna see how that fight would have gone without that excellent flying knee that knocked Fedo...oh wait

Real tournaments are seeded by rank, so with the exception of Fed being No.3 for a short while last year and Nadal being injured before that, Nadal and Federer would never meet in the Semis since for the past 5 years they have been #1 and #2 non stop except for the times I mentioned.
Unfortunately this tournament isn't sorted out like a tennis or other sport tournament bracket would be. Still not complaining, and trying not to be negative because there are some ballin fights to be had here!
