The timing seems to be good too, I hope it happens.
rh | I think Kenny would make Melvin look very foolish. That is the only fighter in that division I think Melvin should stay away from at all cost.
Kenny is to Melvin what Edgar is to BJ imo.

a win over evan dunham is fantastic but just cause kenny wants the fight doesnt mean melvin even deserves the fight, also i dont think kenny should be stepping into the octagon with a rehabbed knee against someone who's main strength is explosiveness bad idea, melvin should face sherk next then maybe kenflo or top 8 fighter

im all for this fight. melvin deserves a step up and kenny needs a win. it would be a good gauge for melvin, or possibly help kenny get back on track. plus, i actually think it could be an exciting fight.

I want to see Melvin demoralize and embarrass Kenflo ala BJ Penn style....I was a Kenflo fan but now he's pissed me off.....He just signed his own assassination contract....

He just filled in on short notice and destroyed the guy Kenny was supposed to fight.

I like Kenny but I think this could be a difficult fight for him. While he probably has the edge in standup technique (especially kicks) Melvin's faster and hits harder. Kenny's not a great athlete, and I just think that with his explosive speed Melvin will beat him to the punch more often than not, regardless of whether he knocks him out. If all Melvin does is what he did against Stephens he'll probably outland Kenny and win a decision.
Granted, if this fight hits the mat with Kenny on top then the advantage swings dramatically in his favour. I'm just not 100% convinced that Kenny will be able to take him down. He doesn't have the greatest shot, and Melvin showed against Dunham that anyone wanting to lock in a single-leg better be ready for a bunch of wicked hammer-fists to the temple.
I'll be cheering for Kenny if this fight happens (I agree with Kale that as Melvin stepped up and kicked the crap out of the guy Kenny was booked to fight then he's he's his next most logical opponent) but it is beyond doubt that Melvin's got the tools to win this fight.

I agree he has the athletic ability to be a champion, he just doesn't have the intelligence.

All these people saying that Melvin should be a good little boy and wait his turn, obviously miss the pure genius and can not appreciate the balls it takes to call your shot and then either win or crash and burn. Dana White demonstrated his mentality for fighters who are the first to jump at the chance to fight (anyone remembers that TUF episode when he walked in the house and asked who wanted to fight? The guy who chased him down got the fight). In order to be noticed, Melvin must raise a little hell, get people talking about him, and most importantly get casual fans excited about seeing him fight. Kenny may be a little butthurt over the fact that Melvin stole his spotlight, but make no mistake, Melvin is a very dangerous fighter who's putting his skills and talent all together with a new, more focused midset. If his grappling and ju jitsu has improved, then I think we could be looking at a surging LW contender. My dream fight would be Melvin vs Aldo in about a year or two, should Melvin keep destroying contenders.....
I call Melvin stopping Florian. Quote me.
