IM never one to slurp Fedor's cock, I think he is an unmarketable russian in the wrong country, but I don't think he is dumb enough to get caught by Werdum twice. Dos Santos knocked him out and Fedor very well might have had he not gotten "Chael Sonnened"...I think the big question is will Overeem show up, and if so, which ground guy will sub him.

sorry guys. never gonna happen. Reem doesn't like the exclusive contracts the UFC does. If he signed w/ UFC, there would be no more Dream or K1. sux!!! but its all business.

Yeah i can't see the Reem ever giving up K1, after his Grand Prix win he's 'kinda a big deal' now for them. He had alot of doubters in K1 and he has only just proved them wrong, can't see him not wanting to defend his title. Plus you get the feeling he would like a fight with Schilt, think he thought they were destined to meet at the last Grand Prix.

as i have stated before. fedor will not win this tournament.

fedor beats silva, and AO upsets werdum. do to a contractual issue fedor ends up sitting out due to his contract which coker has all but said he doesnt understand. during this time AO takes a fight over seas against a can so coker makes werdum vs bigfoot for the semi finals except during the other semi finals barnett wins but test positive so werdum vs bigfoot is now the finals but in the mean time werdum signs to rematch fedor in dream so now bigfoot beats a can of a replacement in the returning Kimbo to win the strikefarce gp.

I can absolutely say that Brett Rogers and Sergei Kharitonov WILL NOT win the Strikefarce HWGP because they'll have to go through Barnett and Fedor/Overeem/Werdum and that's near impossible. And in the same breath, I can pretty confidently state that unless Arlovski's reinvented himself that he will not win the tourney because he's just been so vacant, dispassionate and disconnected for so long now.

I wouldn't be SHOCKED if Bigfoot won the whole tourney because he has alot of tools to beat Fedor and did quite well vs. Werdum, but I don't see him getting past Fedor, Overeem or Werdum AND Barnett. Ditto Werdum, whom I could theoretically see subbing Overeem and Fedor again, but in having to go through BOTH of them to win, I think he's not only got the most difficult road to the tourney victory, but there's no chance he doesn't get KO'd in both of those fights and then goes on to fight and beat Barnett too!

Fedor beating Bigfoot is a pretty solid bet and either Overeem or Werdum aren't all around MMA fighters on the same level and I'd be pretty confident that he'd take Werdum easiliy in a rematch, although Overeem gives me pause because I fear he'll be able to rock Fedor and get Fedor on his back with some shots akin to the Rogers/Fedor bout, but will GNP Fedor to a stoppage with his amazing size advantage. If he gets past Overeem, he and Barnett will go to war and it will be an amazing fight between two complete HWs and will IMO, be the greatest test of Fedor since the end of PRIDE. I'm very confident that Fedor will perform well in the GP and I do not think he'll lose, rather I think he'll drop out of the GP due to injury after the Bigfoot or Overeem fights, however he's not my favourite here.

Neither is Overeem. While he's got SIIIIICK standup and ridiculous size and power, he's not technically astute within the entire MMA game and think that Werdum poses a huge BJJ threat and could rip an arm off and Fedor is still the fucking man. Going into the finals, I think Barnett(who defuses any size disparity) will be able to box with Overeem long enough to legtrip him and sub his ass, because through his entire HW run over the past three years, all the hype on Overeem has been his standup, but nobodies been able to take him down to the ground: BARNETT WILL. He's just too good for Overeem. Werdum, Fedor AND Barnett.... that's a pretty big mountain too.

As you have probably already guessed by now, I'm picking Josh Barnett to win the whole tourney. He's got the easiest draw in the whole GP having to only go through Rogers and either the flat Russian or flat Belarusian(having to had to go through BOTH of them rather than Rogers would've been a far greater challenge) and he's in the finals. Whoever wins the Fedor/Overeem/Werdum bracket has gone through two wars and Barnett matches up amazingly with all three. He's a big bulky HW, with power and good handspeed and a furious set of takedowns to go with solid GNP and awesome subs. I'm not saying Barnett's the BEST fighter in the tourney, but he only has to go through ONE of those three and that's the best bet. Let's forget about all his failed pisstests and the BS he's pulled over the years, Barnett's a top tier HW and has all the tools to be the best HW on the planet(or at least outside of the UFC) and I think that only having to beat Fedor OR Overeem is a huge advantage.

Fedor has the best chance at winning the GP, but I'll be rooting for Overeem even though hes done if Werdum or Fedor get him down.

How is Werdum getting Overeem to the ground? Anybody believe he's gonna use some fancy JJ trip or worked on his double leg? I sure as hell don't. Werdum is gonna be forced to stand with Overeem and be finished VERY early in the 1st.

What you say is so true, after the Fedor fight i don't see Overeem making the mistake of following him down to the ground if he thinks he has him hurt, he'll just take his time, force him to stand up again and tear him asunder. Thats the only way i think Werdum could get him down pretending to be hurt. If Werdum tries to clinch or get a hold of him, Overeem is just gona throw him away and power out. He's too strong for Werdum. I think this could be a savage ko stoppage with the Reem going in there angry for revenge.

This is Fedor's tournament to lose. I don't see that happening, either. That said, I'm rooting for Werdum.

Overeem has enjoyed a successful stint because he avoided competition in MMA. It will be interesting to see what happens when he has to face fighters who aren't afraid of him or are ranked in the top 10 or 15.
