Its very well organized and a good quality event for the roster of fighters they have. It might take a little longer then the time line then I said but if strikeforce get get their S%^T together bellator will pass them and take the number 2 spot. The MTV2 deal is the first step in that process | Once again SF smoked Bellator in terms of ratings. The last 4 or 5 cards for SF have been great and I also thought SF put on the better show this weekend. We all know the production needs work starting with the broadcasting team but SF puts on good fights and that's really all I care about.

I agree. I found the Bellator broadcast very watchable. I can appreciate the fights in Strikeforce, but everything else annoys the hell out of me. Bellator's setup is more like UFC, WEC, even Boxing, while Strikeforce reminds me more of Friday Night Smackdown(not quite good enough to compare to Monday Night RAW).
I think Bellator is different though. I think the "season" format makes it very appealing and I could see a good amount of up and coming talent building themselves in a Bellator tournament before making their way to the Big show.

Dana White received this in his daily report and the first thing he said was, "I knew Dan Henderson wasn't a fu*kin' draw. Motherf*ckin' f*ck! Where's my fu*kin' coffee!?"
Seriously, I bet Dan wishes he was making some more of that PPV money.

Like their "Pride FC-esque" Grand Prix "intro" but instead they just lined up all the guys, they stood there clueless for a few moments and just walked back in ...FAIL

Bellator is excellent....my only gripe is that it's "seasonal" with it's tournaments. I wish they would put on more shows on a yearly basis. Strikeforce should take some serious notes off of Bellator on how it's done as a #2 organization.
Bellator on MTV2 is a huge win.

strikeforce, at the moment has the bigger name talent. that is the ONLY thing they hold over bellator. bellator beats them in every other way.
i do find it amusing how people always talk about "but the past few strikeforce cards have dbeen really excited and most if not all of the fights were finishesd"
styles makes fights, match ups make finishes. is there really any other way daley vs smith could of ended? now, i agree, i love to see exciting fights. but part of me thinks strikeforce is giving it all away at once. anyone remember the 3 title fights that went to dec on cbs?? now, dont get me wrong, im ok with fights going to dec. its going to happen and not all can be finished. but out of those 3 fights, i seem to remember a lot of boring chants, and people complaining about stalling. im not saying the fights were not any good, im just saying that is what sticks out in my head.
my point is, instead of stacking the card with fights that have styles and match ups to end in a bang sprinkle these "exciting" for fun fights into other cards.
but, thats probably another topic, back to topic. i can see bellator rising to the number 2 promotion. they do not come off as campy, they do not come off as playing little brother to the ufc, there announcers know what they are talking about, or at least appear to know what they are talking about, and there not sitting there screaming out tiger blood and giggling like a school girl.
there were a lot of people who didnt even know about bellator when it was on fox sports. now that its on mtv2, it will gain a lot more exposure, and help build up younger and lesser known fighters. strikeforce currently has more talented fighters, but i dont see them really building and growing any young stars. what happens when the hendo's and fedors retire??

I actually like the fact that it's seasonal, for now. I think it's a good thing to leave the fans wanting more. Also, it keeps them unique and gives them time to plan things out(unlike Strikeforce). Between the Seasonal Tournaments and the fact that they're on MTV2, I think Bellator will really catch on with casual fans. As they grow as a brand and also add more weight classes, they can increase the frequency of the "seasons". Also, I think the seasons will help them attract talented young fighters. You make a 3 month commitment, go build your name, then crack the UFC roster.

Bellator on MTV2 is a huge win. | Chael fan I think was Bellator grows the seaonal format will go away and the will put on more shows. I don't think bellator was the roster to do more show yet so the seaonal format works for them for now, but has they grow it will go away. I'd almost bet on it.

Bellator Already has a network deal, and is going to grow even more
