Fedor weighs in about 235sh
He def has LOTS of body fat he can lose and can make 205 easily. But a for a guy who never had to worry about his physique or weight-cutting, I think Fedor should go ahead and do a catch-weight bout first, somewhere around 215, just to see how his body feels.
A rematch with Sobral would be good. It's a very winnable fight for Fedor. Or perhaps Mike Kyle.

Nah I like the full cut to 205 for Fedor. and who knows if Dan would agree to a catchweight he's fought in middleweight and LHW.. he may not want to gain the extra weight but I'd like to see Fedor lose some of that fat he carries with him and get his roll going again.

I think if Fedor cut straight to 205 and his fight was against Hendo, Hendo would win. I doubt his first cut will go well, they hardly ever do and to face a guy like a Hendo in your first fight at 205 is a tall order. I think a warm-up fight with King Mo would make more since. That way he can get a win and get use to the weight cut.

As Masscore said, the first cut sometimes goes badly for a fighter, but this is news I am LOVING!!! I think this will be a fresh start to Fedor's career. I have faith that he can dominate the LHW division for a few years before it starts catching up with him like the heavyweight division has. Oh Lord, please, please let this happen. And to Fedor: Please, please make a few adjustments to your training and train with some new, and advanced, mma guys.
This news just made my night. Holy shit. Holy fucking shit!

The big worry is that IF Fedor loses again, he's then lost his last 3 fights. Also, since the timeline of this fight would somehow have to be after the next round of the tourny, there's no chance of putting him back into the tourny. You could still give him one of the tourny losers, but then you have him go back up in weight. If you give him a match first before Hendo, then you've taken him completely out of the HW picture. It just seems time is against us on this one.

Plus, I just don't want to see Fedor fight in heavyweight anymore. He's made an ironclad case for being the best heavyweight ever, but I think his time at heavyweight has passed him by. I also have complete faith in my favorite fighter that he can make the cut and start a new winning streak in LHW.

Fedor has never been a lean guy, I think he would need to change camps and get a nutritionist if he wanted to make 205. It's not impossible, but he's been doing the same thing for so long it seems kind of unlikely.

yeah i dont see it happening, great idea and would love to see it but i see the talks taking to long and then henderson booking a fight with someone else! But fedor at 205 would bring a hole new agruement to the man being a machine!

that would be great. haven't thought about fedor at lhw for a long time because i thought it would never happen and fedor wouldn't want to. there could be some really good fights, he could fight hendo, mo, and possibly mousasi if they would fight. it would be cool if he still went to the ufc, could you imagine those fights? he could also take fights at both divisions and would only fight who he wants/the best at this point of his career.
