| Nick Ring is Not Impressed With Reporter’s Inference That He Lost UFC 127 Fight Nick Ring is Not Impressed With Reporter's Inference That He Lost UFC 127 Fight to Riki Fukuda | CagepotatoCagepotato Quote:
Ring didn’t take to kindly to the theory that he didn’t deserve to beat fellow UFC newcomer, Fukuda.
“Well, I thought that Riki Fukuda had a tough night. What elses do you want me to say? He was a current world champion fighting out of Deep Impact. Fighting at a high level these fights are hard to finish, right? So, whatever.”
When pressed by Panas to admit that it was a lot closer than the judges’ scorecards indicated, Ring seemed to get a bit perturbed.
“I actually haven’t even watched the fight, but the judges obviously gave me the first two rounds and they gave him the third round, so…I mean, it was a unanimous decision, you know? All three judges scored basically the same thing. I don’t know what you say about that, but it was, you know, it was unanimous…That’s why judges are there to judge and I’ll say they just did a pretty damn good job.”
Still, Panas persisted, pointing out that Ring was beaten up pretty good in the third round.
“Well, you go into fights, you take beatings,” Ring pointed out. “That’s part of it.”
| One of the worst decisions, EVER. I don't like the way this guy believes he won that fight, he looked like he was sparring. I can't wait until he get's tooled.

The problem I had with Ring after the decision was that he never acknowledged Riki for his efforts or that the decision was controversial. He just carried on that he truly won that fight. Kinda shows you the difference between American and Japanese fighters. At least the Japanese have the respect to admit defeat. Case-in-point, Omigawa winning a controversial decision over Hatsu Hioki yet praising Hioki that he should have gotten the decision over him.
Ring is a tool. But I was glad to read somewhere that Dana did give Riki his win bonus.

Don't worry, it won't be long until Ring is hangin' with Gerald Harris at the Unemployment Agency.

I thought Ring clearly lost the fight, but I'm sure he's happy with his gift from the judges.
I heard Rogan say that Dana White paid Fukuda his win bonus despite the decision.

It would be a sweet deal if retired Chuck could become a judge, and then Randy a judge when he finally calls it quits...quits for good anyway.

think its funny Panas kept pushing for a confession.. I guess Ring's little "fruity" voice tone doesn't get him much respect from the reporters either lol.

Ring is Canadian and not American. The dude is cool, I think he's more mad (and not explaining this) about the fact that people just want him to admit he lost and as a fighter in the UFC is a tough thing to do lol

I thought Ring lost but thought it wasn't a blowout. The dude just came off a huge layoff and ACL reconstruction and people are doing nothing but criticizing him. I'd be a little pissed too. And probably not ready to admit I lost (especially if I hadn't watched the fight afterwards).
