I like Hardy for this one. I would give him a slight speed and definite cardio advantage. No way AJ subs him either. GSP couldn't and it isn't happening this weekend. UD coming his way.

Johnson coming off that LOOOONNNNGGGG lay off and admittedly got fat before training. He's gonna gas in the first round, believe that.

I really hope that eventually AJ goes to MW, I know he won't have that huge size advantage, but damn It's gotta be easier than cutting this much weight. I'm really looking forward to seeing this. Putting my KOTN money on this fight!

This is guaranteed to be an awesome fight. Whether hardy is overrated or not, he always brings it. However, coming off 2 straight losses, it'll be interesting to see if Hardy plays it safe by trying to put Johnson on his back early on and wearing him down. It's certainly not Hardy's usual tactic, but would certainly throw Johnson off him game.
Hardy is sure to have a big cardio advantage over Johnson and if he could use the first round to tire Johnson then I'm sure he'd pick him apart in the stand-up in the 2nd.
A second consecutive KO loss for Hardy would be disastrous (and possibly get him cut) so I don't see him taking chances against a guy with knockout power like Johnson early in the fight when Johnson is fresh.
I also worry that Hardy will be a little reluctant to pull the trigger after being knocked out like he was against Condit. It's going to be a great fight!
I pick Hardy by TKO in the 2nd.

I pick Hardy by TKO in the 2nd. | I agree, but disagree with your thinking on Hardy getting cut by the UFC. I mean this is a case of fans over Dana White really. Dan's last 2 fights were extremely profitable for everyone in the UFC, including Hardy. An amazing display of techinical ability by GSP dominating him in a championship fight that deserved fight of the night as the main event, earned Dana dutifully loads no doubt.
Hardy getting KO in spectacular fashion against Conduit earned Dana loads again as possibly fight of the night, but at least KO of the night. Again, huge huge crowd pleaser.
It'd be a terrible decision to loose Hardy and I don't think we should be worried yet, as he has more potential to win a belt at his age than say Matt Hughes, and is definitely a cheaper employee!
Hardy by KO though sounds extrmely possible, but equally Johnson too if it stays in the first round. Hardy will weather the pace much, much better however no doubt at all. Can't wait for this fight!

I really liked AJ at one point and thought he could be a force... then he got choked out by Kos and abandoned ship. Where the hell has he been all this time? He was really fat for a while, too.
I really can't call this fight. Dan Hardy is extremely overrated, IMO. I don't even think he can KO AJ.

Hardy will get the decision. AJ is going to come in too heavy and drain himself trying to make weight. By fight time AJ will be running on empty and have just enough to make the fight competitive for the first 2 minutes. After that he's going to be huffing and puffing while Hardy tee's off on his face.
Seriously, until AJ can make weight on a consistent basis I really dont even want to watch his fights. It's ridiculous that he tries to fight at WW and keeps coming in heavy.
