Good point & I'm also pretty sure that fight was at a lighter weight @ 175 pounds I believe,both guys will be more comfortable at 185 but IMO it's suits Anderson a little more. To me that DQ seemed to stem from frustration on Andersons part,frustration that he wasn't able to finish Okami & was being lay & prayed upon. I think Silva has improved a little bit too much for Yushin to handle this time round.

now that gsp seems like he doesnt want to fight anderson, anytime soon anyways. anderson should avenge his dq loss to okami and then fight chael once he is off suspension. That will give gsp time to add 30 pounds of muscle to his frame...

No, I would not be pulling for a boring fight, I would love for it to be a great fight. With that said, since you imply that exciting fights consist of a winner being decided in a convincing fashion, it is clear to me that our ideas of what is a boring fight are clearly different.

Was Shogun / Machida 1 boring? I didn't think so. Was Rampage / Forest boring? BJ / GSP 1? Was that boring too? These were great fights where one could make an argument that nobody won convincingly. A great fight doesn't have to end with a KO or submission, it doesn't have to end convincingly.

But fight preferences aside, I'm pulling for Okami/Silva because:

A.) Okami is the #1 contender and deserves the shot.
B.) Okami has been promised a title shot on several occasions
C.) Okami, stylistically, matches up very well against Silva

Title shots shouldn't be dictated by fans' fighter preferences. Fighters earn title shots, it's not a popularity contest. One can make the case for GSP deserving a shot against Anderson, I certainly wouldn't argue against it. Pending a victory over Jake Shields, GSP has absolutely cleaned out the WW division (as it stands). Can Silva say the same? Can Silva say that he's cleared out the MW division, when he hasn't fought the #1 contender who already holds a victory over him?

You don't like Okami's style, and that's cool, I can appreciate where you're coming from; but the man has worked his ass off for the chance to recognize a dream. To be shortchanged the way he has, to be written off the way he has, not only does him a disservice, it delegitimizes the sport.

GSP's game plan is going to be the exact same game plan Okami goes into the fight with (get it to the ground, maintain a safe top position and GnP when possible); and I would wager that Okami would execute it better.

I don't think Silva knew the upkick was illegal; every other org he fought in before that fight it was legal to throw upkicks, even if the opponent was down.

I fucking love Okami, he's a crisp, well rounded and articulate fighter who brings a sense of controlled fury to his fights.....but I don't see him beating Anderson Silva at all.....yet I think he's earned his chance to prove me wrong.

If It goes to the ground he probably won't be able to do much with Silva like Hendo. Silva by no means is a fish out of water on his back compliments of Nog.

I think Silva will be ok and hopefully retain his title. I want him to continue winning so no one will even come close to breaking his win streak.

The only way I would want him to lose is if he had to drop his title to make the offical move up to lhw and that ain't happening.

I hope Silva has been training with Munoz like Little Nog. His TDD looked good against Davis (at least for the 1st rd).
