| Dan Hardy pays tribute to Bruce Lee at his grave site in Seattle Dan Hardy pays tribute to Bruce Lee at his grave site in Seattle (Video) - MMAmania.com Quote: |
"To only live such a short time and to contribute so much and to be inspiring people that were born many years after him is just amazing, I mean, we all aspire to something like that. I would love to be able to contribute something, even just a fraction of what he contributed to martial arts. Yeah (it does surprise me how emotional I am), I kind of, and I don't want this to sound disrespectful but I kind of treated this as a bit of a sightseeing kind of thing, I wanted to come and visit Bruce Lee's grave just to say I've been there and done it but you know, to be here and to, you know... I don't know, I just kind of got something else from it, you know? I mean, I started training when I was six and my martial arts teacher back then was constantly passing on Bruce Lee information to me, books and DVD's, and that was kind of what kept me going. He just gave a lot, you know what I mean, he offered a lot and he was way ahead of everybody in his time and I think if it wasn't for him, a lot of us wouldn't be here doing this now and I've got a lot to thank him for because I certainly wouldn't be either. Yeah, I've just got a lot of respect for the guy and his contribution to martial arts and just to people in general."

I was a bit too young when Bruce Lee died (of course, I still watched all his movies and read many of his Tao of Jeet Kune Do manuals) but when Brandon Lee died, that really sucked. I knew he was going to be an awesome action star when I first saw him in Showdown in Little Tokyo (with Dolph Lundgren) and then Rapid Fire. When The Crow hit, of course, it really gave him the chance to show he would have been much more than just an action star.
I can only imagine how much pain Bruce Lee's wife must have gone through to lose her husband and her only son both at such a young age.

Class move via Dan Hardy. Anthony Johnson will wreck him, though.
