| Carlos Condit wants match with Diaz / Daley winner or Jake Shields
UFC's Condit wants a shot at top Strike Force stars or redemption with Jake Shields. UFC's Condit eyes showdowns with Diaz, Daley, Shields; not keen on Hardy rematch | MMAjunkie.com Quote:
While the exact future of Strikeforce remains to be seen, UFC welterweight contender Carlos Condit (26-5 MMA, 3-1 UFC) is already eyeing a few potential matchups with some of the promotion's top stars.
Namely, Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz (24-7 MMA, 4-0 SF) and his opponent on April 9, Paul Daley (27-9-2 MMA, 2-0 SF). Condit also wants a second crack at the UFC's current No. 1 contender, Jake Shields (26-4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
"I'm looking to hopefully fight Jake Shields to get that loss back," Condit said at a Friday Q&A session. "Now with the Strikeforce merger, possibly Nick Diaz.
"I was supposed to fight Paul Daley a while back. I got staph infection in my hand and had to pull out of the fight. There's some unfinished business there. I like that fight."
| Speaking on his KO win over Dan Hardy and the idea of a rematch: Quote:
Condit said the result was no fluke, and he currently has no desire to revisit the matchup.
"Honestly, I think he dislikes me more than I dislike him, for obvious reasons," Condit said. "I stood in the cage with that guy, and I'm just telling you, he had nothing – that night, anyway."

I would like to see him fight GSP after Shields goes down in flames.

I really don't see the purpose of a rematch between Condit and Hardy.. Hardy got KTFO!
I'd love to see Condit vs Diaz, Daley, and/or Sheilds. Interesting match-ups, to say the least.

I think Carlos was a bit overrated coming into the UFC. That being said I love to watch him fight cause he brings it. He is never in a boring fight and pushes a tremendous pace. Him and Nick Diaz would be an epic fight. I dont see the UFC sending any of its stars to fight anyone in StrikeForce. UFC is going to do everything possible to show that StrikeForce and its fighters are not as good as there owne. I see the UFC folding up StrikeForce in when all the contracts are up. Hopefully Im wrong though.

I was very bummed when he had to pull out of the Lytle fight. I'd love to see that happen someday, but I also like Diaz, Daley and Shields. I'm excited that this could start to become the norm. I mean guys in UFC calling out Strikeforce guys and vice versa. We don't know what the future holds but at least there is a glimmer of hope that some of these fights will now happen.

It's hard to tell how say Antonio Silva would do in the UFC, because he hasn't fought any of the same guys the guy in the UFC have fought. A fight between Condit and Diaz would be awesome tho.

Considering Hardy just lost again, their is zero point in a rematch, his KO was clean, nothing fluke about it.
As for fighting Shields, Diaz or Daley, all great match-ups. And I think he is deserving of them all. I think he can beat Shields, as long as he can stuff TD's, as for Diaz their reach I bet is pretty close, and so is their BJJ so I can see that fight going either way. And against Daley, I think he could take him down and get the sub. All winnable fights for Condit.

Daley would get tooled by Condit, easily, and it would be even much worse than Nick will tool him. Now just so we're clear, I'm not hating on Daley, but it's hard for me to take him seriously as an MMA fighter as seeing as he has zero ground skills. This is MMA, not Boringxing, buddy. Sooner or later, he'll need to realise that. Then, and only then, I'll take him seriously. Until then, though, he can go fight the Scott Smith's of the world. War Condit!

To be honest I think that Diaz and Shields would beat him.
