| Vitor Belfort excited for UFC 133 with Yoshihiro Akiyama, eyes finish, title shot Vitor Belfort excited for UFC 133 bout with Yoshihiro Akiyama, eyes finish, title shot | MMAjunkie.com Quote:
In Akiyama, Belfort faces an always-exciting Japanese superstar in desperate need of a win. Just 1-2 in the UFC, Akiyama is a three-time "Fight of the Night" winner, but his roster spot may be in jeopardy with a third-consecutive defeat.
Belfort knows he's facing a dangerous foe and welcomes the challenge. The Brazilian slugger believes another win or two will give him another crack at the middleweight title.
"I want to win this fight for my legacy, and I want a title shot again," Belfort said. "Akiyama is a tough opponent. He's a nice guy, but it's going to be a war.
"I'm going to go in there 100 percent, and I'm going there to knock him out or submit him. I'm going to be there to bring the heat. I know he will be there to bring the heat, too, so be ready. Don't miss it."

It's not Wandy, but I guess it's the next best thing.

Akiyamma is fighting for his UFC contract in this fight, and sadly he will be cut once he looses. I think Akiyamma should be fighting Rusimar next, not vitor. Vitor should be facing Mia. Also, he is wtf crazy if he thinks that he will get a titleshot in 2 fights.

I hope he doesn't get cut, he brings it win or lose.

He will finish akiyama. Akiyama has the tools to win by a decison but he has shown to want to strike with just about anyone. I doubt vitor will get another shot at anderson, but possibly a title shot after anderson leaves mw.

^^^Well depending on how long Anderson stays champ and working,if he earns it they kinda have to.
I hope Akiyama keeps his job if he loses.

I like a lot Akiyama, he always gives great fights.
If UFC waited Jardine to lose 5 fights in a row to finally cut him (despite that 3 of those loses were by brutal KO early in the fight) why would they cut such an exciting guy as Akiyama after 3 loses?
War Akiyama!! His entrance is one of the best in UFC!

Vitor and his title shots...
I can tell you one thing, beating Akiyama, if he does, will not get him a title shot.
