Keeping with the title of the thread, I just wanted to let you know that if you haven't seen The Sixth Sense, he's dead the entire movie. Just thought you should know that.

That is what they are there for. Quote: |
Yes, im not saying that gsp wasnt injured. But some fighters fight through them...
| as for this, he did fight through it. Did he quit.....no at least not in the fight that I was watching. Did it effect his performance, yes. fighting with sight in one eye is hard to do.

Man the big spoiler is not cool. Luckily I'd already seen the fight, but it could have ruined it for a lot of guys on here.
Trying to stay on topic (Couture) it was a real shame to see him get knocked out like that, but what a way for Machida to step right back into the mix.
I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot more front kicks in future. In the same way GSP has really highlighted the importance of the jab in MMA, Silva and Machida have shown the necessity to stay unpredictable to keep your opponent off guard.

Not to mention it's something that might be permanent (in this case it wasn't). Where as swelling on your forehead won't make you half blind and you know it won't be permanent damage...
Anyways, it's about time Randy calls it quits. He ain't getting any younger and unlike some people he didn't wait until he goes on a huge losing streak to finally retire.

I wasnt criticizing him for that, i was criticizing his performance. He did not quit, that is a fact. His performance was unimpressive, opinion...

I agree his performance could have been better but the truth is the man was fighting with one eye, for 3 full rounds and still beat what was called the biggest treat to his belt. coming from someone who fights with a disadvantage he fights, I can tell you it is a tall order to fill sir.

What is up with these guys being parallel to an opponent where a front kick can slip right between your hand positions? One leg should be forward so you are more in a perpendicular stance with your opponent and your lead hand will block. (look at Bruce Lees fighting stance) I commend Machida on the Karate Kid kick but please no more. I cant take it.

because bruce lee's style has been proven in actual fights...
Anderson, lyoto, overeem dont have a stance like Lee, im sure they would have ko'd him into oblivion.

Get off the Bruce Lee technique, it is a kung fu stance that has been around for a thousand years. Anderson Silva uses the stance quite often, In most of his fights he is never face to face with an opponent.
Lyoto has a stance that most chinese fighters used to train against and crush in the 1920's and 1930's too rigid, take out the front leg and the karate guys were done.
I do not condone front kicks to the knee but Silva had used them in the past. one day someone may take out machida's knee.
