UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo looks like he may defend his title against Chad Mendes at UFC 133 in Philadelphia, PA.

The UFC president, Dana White, confirmed that the fight may go down at the UFC’s first fight in Philly since UFC 101 in August of 2009.

“Probably,” White said at the post-fight press conference. “He and I haven’t talked yet.

“Kenny Florian couldn’t be ready by then. Chad Mendes is 10-0, undefeated, makes sense.”

I was surprised at how bad Aldo gassed; either he didn't take Hominick seriously and didn't train properly or he just doesn't have very good cardio naturally and gassed himself out by wrestling too much. I could definitely see Mendes causing Aldo to gas as long as he doesn't get KO'ed in the first 2 rounds.

i think he may have taken him a little lightly but i dont think he knew how to handle mark being a freak of nature being able to taking huge shots and keep coming foraward and firing back unlike faber who was just trying to survive by the 3rd round.

people aren't giving aldo enough credit. he beat a fucking beast in hominick. some people act as if he lost just because he was in a good fight.

i feel like he is now viewed as beatable, which he is but so is everybody, and as a result it'll give mendes too much confidence so he'll end up tasting the canvass by the end of the night.

thats a very tough fight for aldo. Hopefully this time he wont have a bad weight cut and be drained come fight night. Mendes isnt going to ko or sub him but he could take him down for 5 rounds to a ud. Still im takin aldo by ktfo round 2

Homminick could've won that fight IMO. The 5th round the crowd was going absolutely apeshit. Was really hoping for a finish there (even though I like Aldo, just wanted to see the Canadian boy win it).

Alot of people were booing Aldo too, that shit really pissed me off at the event.

I think if Mark had used some wrestling, before the last round, he could have easily won this fight. The last round could have even been 10-8. What I really don't understand, is that one of the judges scored the fight 50-44 or some shit. Like how the fu*k did Aldo win that last round, on anyone's scorecard.

And the welt on Homminick's head between the 4th/5th rounds, absolutely brutal. Props to him for keeping in the fight when he was so messed up. During the fight I thought he should change his name to Mark 'The Mutant' Homminick because it looked so bad. But 'The Machine' works good too, guy just kept coming at Aldo.

Side note though, Aldo had to leave the Super-7 / weigh in thing due to 'medical reasons' or some shit. Musta been a real rought weight cut. Maybe he's upto 155 soon.

Anyways, I'd like to see a rematch sometime down the line. That was a great fuckin fight
