Once a year the UFC gathers every fighter under contract to provide training and motivation in a wide variety of topics, including social media, tax responsibilities, PED avoidance, and much more. For the first time, the Fighetr's Summit includes the Strikeforce roster, both male and female.
The days agenda is at bottom, but through Twitter messages and facebook posts, some key points are emerging:
A Strikeforce fighter requested to Lorenzo Feritta for Strikeforce events to feature "Of the Night" bonuses. Lorenzo said "we'll see".
UFC will compensate fighters more who are active on twitter, facebook and youtube.
Strikeforce fighters have been told the organization is here for the long run.
Seminar on signs of head injuries and lasting effects of drastic weight cutting
UFC is encouraging fighters to get a "fan cell phone" and tweet the number and talk to fans on the phone

A fan cell phone? I can understand reaching out on twitter and whatever else social networking is out there, but a fan cell phone is completely ridiculous.

That would be awesome if all the fighters on contract were actually there. That would be the place to be if you are a fan. I highly doubt a lot of the big name fighters were there or foreign fighters.

Even as a fan I find the idea of a professional fighter having a personal cell phone for his/her fans a bit much. I can imagine sweet sweet Gina's phone would explode within seconds.

The article mentions compensation for fighters who increase their activity on YouTube,how can Zuffa contracted fighters be active on YouTube when Dana & co have any videos containing UFC (& now) Strikeforce footage removed? Unless they're referring to WWE styled 'smack-talking' self promo videos like the type we saw from Jorge Rivera before the Bisping fight.

Maybe get a few UFC fighters together,like Matt, Pat and Struve, and someone records them going out for diner,im sure those guys would capture some interesting evenings. People love reality.

Fans would abuse this whole phone Idea, To many haters/stalkers/people who wanna tell the fighter how to fight would be calling and I dont see it lasting long if it ever got a chance.
