OK Now this IS a fight!!! Jim Miller vs Benson, Showtime vs Clay, WINNER FOR NUMBER ONE CONTENDER! I am not getting off this Pettis-is-undeserving-of-title-shot business haha
Anyways, back to this fight. I love both guys very much and can't wait to see how this plays out. Yes, one was a champ (Ben) but Jim is soo tough with his boxing, wrestling, and BJJ JUST LIKE Ben. This is hopefully going to be a war! On Paper this is the FOTY

I honestly don't see why people are saying Ben needs to work on his takedown D. His wrestling is already really good, he needs to work on his stand up, which is where Miller will probably want to keep the fight.

I think Jim Miller offers simply way too much all around for Benson to handle, especially on the ground. I honestly don't see anything stopping Miller's charge towards a title shot unless he gets outworked down the line by Guida, but still, I think Miller's close to the total package at LW, nothing but love for this guy.

I dont understand where people get saying ben needs to work tdd? Wrestling edge goes to Ben in this fight hands down, as good as miller is, hes not the better wrestler, maybe better grappler but def not better wrestler. Henderson was a all american 2 times, as miller did wrestling in hs and 1 year in college. No doubt henderson has better wrestling. I feel in this fight henderson will look to push the pace and miller wont back down, i see this being a war. I dont see a finish in this fight but for sure we fans will get a great fight, foty potential.

But I guess you never know... will depend on the long term plan for SF. I dont think any of these guys would be happy to be rewarded for their good hard work by being sent to SF, even if it was for a title shot... Quote:

now the question is who will fight melendez. I thought they would have miller fight him... maybe the winner of this fight or the guida pettis winner?

i swear after bendo beat bocek, the first fight that came to mind was one w/ jim miller. if miller pulls off the W, i think there's no question he'll be right at the door for a title shot behind anthony pettis (if he beats guida).
in the case that pettis does get the shot first, the winner of bendo/miller could face the winner of guillared/roller in some sort of title eliminator as it seems the lightweight title could potentially be occupied until next year.
edit: i dont see any zuffa contracted fighter competing in a strikeforce cage any time soon. despite what dana says, strikeforce will be swallowed by ufc within 2 years i bet.
while i'm all for some ufc fighters heading to strikeforce to give gilbert some challenges, i think it would be much easier to bring gilbert to the competition instead sending fighters who have already proven themselves as legit contenders in the number one organization.
i've been wrong before though...like once.
