Was M'pumbu's strategy to lull Hale into a false sense of dominance and wait for his shot as Hale's hands started getting a little lazy, seems like a good strategy.
Hale should have tried to take him down and wear him out.
Pitbull/Strauss had some slow parts but was pretty good overall. Pitbull has improved a lot over the last year.
Funny how a free or ppv ufc event has 20 pages of posts, but any non UFC (zuffa) event, even if it is free and a pretty good card, has 1 or 2 pages. | Ya it's really sad, especially since a lot of the non-Zuffa cards are more entertaining. I love Bellator, go to their events whenever they are in town, always a good night and its like 1/3 of the price of a UFC event.

He's naturally around 198ish and has a very great skillset, but versus a good wrestler or somebody like Forrest who's about 220 after weighins. I think he'd be below Diabate and Cane on the depth chart of UFC LHWs.

Most European and Asian fighters don't, and they end up getting destroyed by large American wrestlers, just like I imagine he will. See Melendez v Aoki. And as far as the weight cut, if Anthony Johnson can make 170, so could this guy.

I think he'd be below Diabate and Cane on the depth chart of UFC LHWs. | I think he could make 185 pretty easily from his current weight...he could get 10 lbs of water off quickly without draining him too much and a slight change up in diet for a week or two could get the other 5 off, but like they said on the broadcast, he stated through his interpreter "that cutting weight doesn't make sense to him", so he would need to wrap his mind around the concept first to make it as easy as possible, otherwise shortly after he started he would give up...if you've never cut weight before, the first few times can break you, hell even when you're used to cutting, it can break you if you aren't careful
I think if he's got enough time between fights at some point he could do something similar to what Faber did before he dropped to 135 and test it out and get used to doing it, that's also assuming he made it to one of the bigger shows where it would benefit him more dropping a class

M'Pumbu caught Hale with an impressive shot for the TKO finish and I am glad that he won that fight. Straus didn't look like he was fighting for 100,000 grand though, unfortunately. The Alvey decision was poor, IMO.

Sorry for the bump but I just actually watched these fights; It's really wierd to see Sam fighting in Bellator; I went to college with the kid @ Lakeland in Sheboygan, WI and he was in a couple of my business classes.
I agree though the decision was a little suspect. This fight might have been another reason to go to 5x3 minute rounds; Alvey's last two minutes saved him because the judges forgot about the first 3.
