So sorry Afro, you are wrong by logic. I agree with Fe4, Nog cannot be over CC by the real way you rank.

Well too bad, you know why? Because IT WAS A "LOGN" TIME AGO! There is a reason why rankings are updated every so often and not every few years. Sure it matters that Nog beat CC a few years ago, but it still does not make any logical sense for Nog to jump from #4 to #2 by beating #3.

And a bit of truth by TheBonger: "why is Mirko winning the OWGP not as impessive now that he is going to the ufc?". Maybe it doesn't apply to everyone, but I'm sure for a lot of people it does.

I'm not a PRIDE or UFC WAR guy who goes for one side against the other, but it just seems to me that SOME (not all) of the more PRIDE oriented fans are just trying to "cut and run". Or as they would say, Cro Cop is running, so we'll cut his status down.

CroCop didn't have a ground game or take down defence for shit at that time and started to train for it. Same thing with hunt. I think CroCop would beat Nog now, but I do understand why you said what you said. Nog still beat him, it's not his fault CroCop wasn't prepared.

nog beat cro cop 4 years ago, if that fight had to do with the rankings now then rampage should be number one over liddell seeing as rampage beat chuck on the same card nog beat cc... it happend but as for ranking it was 4 years ago and doesnt have really any baring on new rankings...

im not biased either cuz i like nog just as much as i like cro cop if not more

But you have to agree logical rankings say the opposite. Here is Zeke's post AGAIN.

Before the OWGP the rankings were:

#1 Fedor
#2 Nog
#3 Mirko

What happened in the Semifinals?

Barnett beats #2 ranked Nog.

What did that do to the rankings? This:

#1 Fedor
#2 Barnett (win over Aleks, Hunt, and Nog)
#3 Nog
#4 Mirko

What happened in the finals?

#4 ranked Mirko beats #2 Barnett.

What did that do to the rankings? This:

#1 Fedor
#2 Mirko
#3 Barnett
#4 Nog

Nog can't leapfrog back on top after the OWGP simply because he has a 4 year old win over Mirko. That makes no sense whatsoever and no legit ranker would ever do it this way, with anything. Not boxing, not K-1, and not MMA.

After Nog's vengence:

#1 Fedor
#2 Mirko
#3 Nog
#4 Barnett

Nog may have avenged his loss to Barnett, but Mirko has done NOTHING to lose his spot. You can't take away his ranking because Nog avenged the loss to the guy who first unseated him any sooner than Nog can erase the loss to Barnett from his record. He merely reseated himself over Barnett with the victory over Barnett. That's how it works. Now if you have the OPINION that Nog is over Mirko, then fine, have that opinion, but if you think the OFFICIAL ranking should be Nog over Mirko then you're simply wrong. That's not how it works. We may as well put Babalu over Shogun in that case.

Mirko is #2, it's logic. You can hate it, but deal with it.

Most of the earlier post dates (I myself am not one, I lurked Sherdog a long time before I ever joined) can actually be pretty logical.

And like Fe said, how about you read what we're referring to instead of just lumping it in as Sherdog BS.
