UFC pay-per-views are coming to Xbox Live through streaming on demand as announced by UFC President Dana White on Monday.
White appeared at the E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, making the announcement about the new platform.
According to White, the UFC pay-per-views will be available on the Xbox Live service in a new deal the promotion signed with Microsoft. White also stated other events like the UFC weigh-ins would be available through Xbox Live.
The details of the deal regarding when the service would become available were not announced, but the UFC will be coming to Xbox Live sooner rather than later.
Xbox Live subscriptions through the streaming service run users anywhere from $9.99 a month to $59.99 for an entire year.
The UFC has been stressing the importance of branching out into new avenues in regards to their programming onto different formats like over the internet and now through the Xbox Live service.
The UFC already offers pay-per-views through their website with additional content as well as multiple camera angles and other add-ons to enhance the viewing audience.

I think it'll work as well as the Netflix and ESPN360 add ons do. I've not had many problems with those at all.
Great move by the UFC.

A smart move but from a fan standpoint, what's the point? This only makes sense to me if they are offered at a reduced rate. If it's still $50, why not just order it through your dish or cable providers and not have to worry about any lag? Is this supposed to reach people who don't have dish or cable (are there any??) The likelihood of someone having internet for XBL but not one of the others seem slim to nil, IMO.

i really only watch TV during football season other than that its growing obsolete.. and this is a growing problem in television that Dana sees and is anticipating everything going online (ive watched a few events on UFC.tv and it is stellar and in HD with no lag) so Dana is setting the trend and everyone else will SOON be following in suit
