maybe they could show results on the ticker, but they cant fully cover MMA
plus, they cant educated alllll of there writers, and analyst to MMA nor does ESPN have a large interest in MMA cuz its martial arts, not there brand of sport.

but damn I would love to see Inside the UFC with Bas Rutten and Randy Couture, but I still think it would fuck with there contract with K1.

If thats the case how could they get away with having Dana, GSP and Matt Hughes on the air for interviews, to announce the fight. As far as educating allllll the writers, do you really think half the writers have a clue about anything they write. They don't write analysis that is left for the 'experts' all the writers do is write the highlights, and generally speaking that is done by whoever will be announcing said highlight. So that being said, basically you are saying that say, Melinda Cohn or Stuart Scott are experts in: Boxing, NASCAR, IRL, CART, NFL, College Football....well you get the point. This is simply not the case. They have 'experts' to do analysis, like Peter Gammons for baseball. So they could easily hire someone like Bas Rutten or Stephen Q, to break things down if they chose to.
Unfortunately, I think you pretty much dead on with the fact that it's not there brand of sport. Although for the life of me I can't figure what justification they would use. To brutal, hmmm no, they show boxing on a regular basis.

I think Cold Pizza once.. but they have only been on Quite Frankly
and yes I do believe that the "SPORTS WRITERS" that work for ESPN have a clue abotu everything they write, its there job to.
Stuart Scott is not a sports writer, he is an Anchorman.. theres a difference
im talking about Tony Reialli, Tony K, Mike Wilbon, Woody Paige, Michael Smith, Skip Bayless.. the guys that actually cover all the sports and talk about them, that run the most watched shows on ESPN.. these guys arent into MMA.

However, have you ever listened to half the guys you mention, they are very knowledgeable in one or two sports and complete idiots in everything else. Yet they are asked to comment about all sports, which is not fair to them. So I hope we are in some agreement on that.
As far as what they have been on, they have been on more then quite frankly, they were on Sportscenter, and on the radio shows of Colin Cowherd and Dan Patrick, which whilke it is not TV, still has a huge audience, in fact I would bet that the ratings for Dan Patrick is equal to if not higher than quite frankly, because alot of people can listen while at work.
I'm done on this topic, but thanks for the discussion Afro, at least we were both able to state our opinions, good posts.
