I'm not saying he's a better fighter or speaking ill of Penn :grinsmile26: I give BJ Penn mad props.

I see how he has earned a title shot over BJ considering BJ lost a razor thin decision to GSP and was dominating Hughes before being injured. but hey diego beat karo on a razor thin decision and diaz on a razor thin decision and a bunch of cans. I hope they throw him in there with GSP right now so he gets murdered

hey jjhk001, i agree with you that diego should fight hughes next, that would be a very interesting match-up against two top notched wrestlers. however, you said that until he fights more "top tier" fighters he will not be taken seriously. in the beginning i do not disagree that he was fed some chumps. yet, he has fought some tough guys such as nick diaz, john alessio, and his toughest yet: karo parisyan. it does not matter what "attitude" anyone thinks diego has, he proves why he is called "the nightmare" every time he steps in the ring, which explains why he is undefeated.

Sorry man just because you are a noob we will let you slide using MMA math on this board for your argument. This is not sher dog and that type of reasoning doesn't fly here because it is rarely ever true to fighter skill or machup quality. and BJ has had one Tilte fight in the last year the GSP fight was not a tile fight.

I am a huge Diego fan. Fittingly, he is my favorite fighter. But, obviously he shouldn't get a shot at the title over Penn, or Hughes. I don't think he could beat any of the three at this point. Sometime in the not too distant future he and GSP will be fighting for the title, but hopefully for Diego it won't be anytime soon.

Its been said, but I'll say it again.

Sanchez has gradually earned my respect with the Karo and Riggs fights. He does, however, need to have an impressive showing against Matt Hughes to ascend to the top tier.

right now if they said we are putting either BJ or Diego in with GSP (obviously they aren't with TUF and BJ fighting Jens soon) I would have to say diego should be the one in there. Now I know that may go against some of you on here who think BJ is the be all end all of MMA, but Im sorry BJ has not won a fucking fight in a year in a half. Yes the GSP fight was close and he gassed; He was beating Hughes ass then gassed or got hurt or whatever, Ive heard the excuses and that doesnt chance the fact the guy hasnt won a fight in the UFC in over 4 years. BJ has to work his way back up the ladder like anyone else, Im sure he will be back in the Title hunt by the end of the year but im sorry right now he is not in the picture. While Diego is 17-0 with some very solid wins, i think its pretty much a no brainer who would get the title shot if one of the two had to get one.

Why would he "SMASH" Hughes? Because he knocked out Joe Riggs and won a very close decision with Karo? I think the fight would be closer then we think but to say Diego would smash arguably the greatest UFC champ of all time is insane.

Matt's superior strength and wrestling would most likely get him the GnP victory.

I think you are right on re: ww but not LW. There is no reason he shouldn't get to fighte Sherk after he fights Little Evil. I still don't know why Pulver vs. Penn wasn't the title fight for 155. It is an outrage!!!!!YARRRR!!!!!

People can hate on Hughes all they want, but I'm with you. He still is the only fighter I've seen GNP while in someone else's full gaurd. I've seen other people do it, but not like he does. He has longer arms then his short ass torso and can just angle up and destroy his opponent.
