I think Diego beats Matt by submission, Penn and GSP would school Diego but not Matt. Matt's record is far greater than his skill, if that makes any sense. He gets caught in submission after submission and manages to escape. I think Diego catches Matt in a sub and fight over.

I personally cant stand Diego Sanchez. but hey this isnt a popularity contest and its good for their to be some guys out there who people cant stand. I think with this injury to GSP and if Serra can sidestep to 155 I dont see why there is no reason not to give Diego the shot. He is marketable would be the second TUF fighter to get a shot I mean he has earned it. Maybe he has earned it in a Boise State fashion as opposed to an Ohio State fashion. But he has beaten every person that has been in front of him. He has done everything anybody has asked of him John Allesio that was a bad night it was a no win situation for him and just a bad matchup for him but he still found a way to win. What is the big deal I mean heck if Joe Riggs made weight he would have gotten a shot what did he do to deserve it. I notice with all this talk about GSP,BJ, Hughes, Diego, Karo/Koscheck even Jon Fitch I have seen a lot of people campaigning for this guy that guy but geez man Fitch is rated high on practically every MMA rankings system but yet he is frozen out. just food for thought for a later meal.

Matt's superior strength and wrestling would most likely get him the GnP victory.
I think Diego would controll the whole pace of the fight. He matches up well with hughes. like rhino man said earlier in this form. To qoute,
"Matt's record is far greater than his skill, if that makes any sense."
Diego has the edge in striking.
The wrestling would be closer then people think.
Diego takes hughes in round 2.
But hey thats just MY OPINION.

Very good discussion in this thread....I respect everyone's views on here and I agree with much of what I read....

I'll say that as a Diego fan I'll just wait and watch
