UFC NEEDS the yellow card
Yes, it would be taking something from Pride, but it works so well. Granted most guys are out to win, and putting forth full effort to do so, but there are some who go in to not lose. A prime example would be Tim Sylvia since he won the title (please don't turn this into an anti Tim forum) in both his defenses he did what he needed to retain the title, rather then going all out to finish the fight. Take Franklin, Hughes, and Liddell, they go out to WIN, and more often then not their fights don't go to decision. I didn't mention GSP or Silva since they have not defended the title yet, then again can you imagine either of them being content to go 5 rounds and doing just what they need to do to get the decision?
Again, I want to stress, this is not intended to be a lets bash Sylvia forum, if he so choses he can dominate most of the HW competion in the UFC, and lets not forget, he is a tough SOB. Just look at when his arm snapped and he was ready to continue.
I just feel like when I watch a Pride figth and start to think, man this is boring, the ref is pulling out the yellow card, and things change. Currently the UFC doesn't have this option, and should.
