Good question. As in your example, I wouldn't mind seeing Barnett fight Crocop again in the UFC. I don't think a lot of UFC fans have seen the two of them fight before, so I think it would be an interesting fight. However, if you are a Pride fan and have seen them fight before, you may get bored of it the 3rd time around.

Yes I would like to watch that fight again and in the UFC. Barnett was unlucky IMO in the fact that the first fight he took Cro Cop down and then got injured in a freak accident, this was before Cro Cop had a guard so there was an 80%+ chance that he was goign to sub Cro Cop IMO.

The 3rd fight was unlucky as well, Barnett had a 15 minute semi finals fight with Nog which was voted FOTY and it was one of the most draining fights I have seen in MMA vs Cro Cop who won his fight in 3 minutes and with very little energy exausted and he took very little damage in the fight.

Therefore I would not mind watching a 3rd fight and Barnett's chances increase in the cage.

If the UFC does end up acquiring a huge roster from Pride or other world elite fighters, essentially monopolizing the sport, the only way to really keep the sport entertaining is to establish a rankings body.

It should be made up of knowledgable voters (i.e. retired fighters) and there would be certain parameters to matchmaking.

For example, let's look at a potential HW division (-Fedor)

Rankings
1. Cro Cop - Champ
2. Nog
3. Barnett
4. AA
5. Hunt
6. Vera
7. Sylvia
8. Herring
9. Schilt
10. Werdum
11. Sergei
12. Lebanner
13. Aleks
14. Gonzaga
15. O'Brien

I think that only 2-6 should be eligible for a title shot, 2-10 should only fight within the top 15 fighters. 10-15 can only fight outside of the top 15 from a pool of unranked fighters who are designated as a certain calibre (let's call it world class) based on record, strength of opponent etc.

If Barnett, Nog, Hunt, happen to be in the top 6, then they get a shot. Once they lose, they are automtically relegated to 15 and must work their way up again. If they happen to beat the champ, the champ then assumes # 2 and remains there until they no longer deserve to be.

I realize there are flaws with this idea, I just thought of it, but there has to be some kind of tangible process for determining who the best of the best are.

4 fights is way too many unless there were three bad decisions the comiled a record of 1-1-1 between both fighters. No way would I pay to see that. There is one exception: If Randy and Chuck fight 20 years from now. That would be kickass.

That is what the pics and videos section is for, jeez man, you are missing out on an incredible fighter and tons of others as if you have not seen Nog there are tons of other Pride fighters you have not seen.

I forgot about that section for some reason. Thanks for reminding me. I've seen many Pride fighters. Our local Fox sports re-airs the fights a month after they take place, and I check out fighter on youtube. I really like Shogun, Hederson, and of course Fedor and Crocop.
