Yeah Diego vs Hughes sounds much better then GSP murdering Serra. Still sucks that GSP is hurt.

"does this mean you're not going to call me a wacky character anymore?"
no diego, absolutely not.

St Pierre is off of UFC 67?
Injured yet again? That is not a good sign for him, he is too young to be getting injured this often. Only 2 fights in 06 and it looks like he is well on his way to another 2 fight 07.

and Hughes would still maul Diego, i can guarantee it!

I dont see why some are so quick to write Hughes off and say Diego would pound on Hughes. There is a reason that Hughes is to date the most dominant WW in history with a record of 40 wins and 5 losses. It's like ever since Hughes was making a jerk of himself somewhat and then lost to GSP that now everyone is just writing him off. The same shit happened to Wand when he lost to CroCop... I dont get it sometimes. I cant wait till a superior fighter like Hughes, BJ or GSP fights Diego and takes tinkerbell Diego down a peg.

as for Hughes, im not even a fan of his...but i know a superior fighter when i see one. take 40 and 5 to 17 and 0...40 and 5 still looks a helluva lot more impressive to me. and Hughes was dominating people left and right for years in the UFC. Diego's toughest fight was Karo, and look he couldn't finish Karo off. Diego's time is coming. i hope this fight happens now that GSP is injured, i really do.
and BranMan, ill take Hughes in a sig bet as well, if that fight happens.

I give Diego a good shot against Hughes. If Diego works on submissions he will be okay, because that is Hughes' weakness. I hope Joe Silva gets this on the card, it would actually be a fight that isn't one-sided.

From Matt Hughes' website: "Monday, January 01, 2007
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a happy and safe New Years. I know I definitely did. This week starts my training. I'm a little under the weather, so I'm not doing anything physical just watching what I eat and my weight.
I was told that my rematch with Georges in April was called off because he wanted more than two months to prepare. I know there are a lot of rumors being spread around the internet and if people want to believe that I dropped out, then that's fine with me. I don't feel that I need to defend myself every time someone posts a rumor on the internet.
The UFC says that I'm fighting on March 3rd, but I don't know who yet. I asked for Diego, but they want to save him for a title shot. I am glad to be fighting in Ohio, this way people from around here, who can't really afford to fly out to Vegas or California, will be able to watch one of my fights. So I look forward to a lot of local support. -Matt"
Later.
