I know its just a rumor for now but what are your thoughts?

The only possible reason for having this fight is Dana White wanting to punish MacDonald for making two of his MW golden boys look like chumps.

If this fight does indeed happen, Franklin will take it with relative ease, as long as he doesn't get lured into a grappling match with MacDonald. Franklin's got great strikes, and solid skills all-around. Unless there's something I don't know, Franklin/Swick makes the most sense to me.

I don't know about the first part, I was reading before UFC 66 that Dana White mailed MacDonald a $15000 bonus and a letter of congratulation, so I def. don't see this as a punishment. But I would definitely have like to see Macdonald get some more fights agains better strickers before giving him to Franklin.

Franklin is gona be highly motivated (more so than usual) and I believe his standup is to much for MacDonald to handle. I'm def. going with Franklin too.

MacDonald's no pushover, I think Franklin would be in big trouble if this fight ended up on the mat. His sub game will be tested for sure.

Yea thas true, but do you think that MacDonald has the wrestling to take it to the mat?

Sounds like they're throwing MacDonald to the wolves here.. what the hell do they do with him if he beats Franklin? My money says they have Silva molest him. No way is he ready for that fight... he needs some time to work on his standup before they start throwing the big boys like Franklin at him.

Perhaps Swicks next fight will be against Silva or Lutter.

I agree with the second part. Don't think dana is trying to punish Jason. Franklin should be able to beat MacDonld on his feet. Jason's striking hasn't been to impressive as of yet. The Swick fight makes more sense for Franklin as it gives the winner (Swick Franklin) a title shot. But if MaDonald beats Franklin, does he get a title shot? I think MacDonald would make a good fight for Franklin as he would likely win and look good doing it. We'll see what White and Silva do.

I think Swick could stand a chance of beating Franklin only beacuse of Franklins injuries and inactivity this year. And the mental blocks he will have to get over after the anderson fight. And if that happen would that put Franklin down the Evan Tanner road to upscurety?

That I can't say, but I'm just saying that this would be more then a warmup fight for Franklin, and if he thinks that's what it is...I see him walking away with another loss.

I will take MacDonald, the guy looks really tough and he wants it.
