Maybe this topic was already discussed but I've been curious about what happened in this fight. I know Akiyama won the fight but Sakuraba was really pissed and looked convinced that Akiyama had something slippery on his legs. After the fight is over, you can see Akiyama signaling to his corner for his Gi. Anything concrete come about this?

According to one of the Sherdog articles the refs checked Akiyama after the fight and found nothing suspicious. Of course from what I read it sounded like the refs were supposed to have been in on it too, so who knows? To me it looked like Akiyama slipped out quite easily each and every time.

Sakuraba got jobbed.
Akiyama was greased like an easter ham. He was not checked before the fight: he wore his gi even during the instructions. During the fight Saku took some good shots and Akiyama just slipped out.
The fight was also stopped way too early.

I cannot believe that this is how Saku gets treated now, he is probably regretting leaving Pride.

I also noticed that Akiyama got very aggressive as soon as Saku tried to call time out during the fight.

I noticed that the first time I saw the fight. Saku was clearly calling for a time out and Akiyama just charged him and started pummeling him.

Akiyama had something. Saku would never complain like that after losing. Also, the ref only just very briefly padded Akiyama's upperbody so he really didnt check anything. This is messed up. I hate to say Akiyama is a cheat but damn...

This sounded like BS to me at first, but i watched the fight again it definitely looks like he was greased. This sport should be about respect and honest competion and it really really sucks to see something like that happen.

Fight is over. Saku got screwed big time. Only thing is that they need to give him a rematch.

the ref lightly checks his shoulders, then his gi is back on and he is gone.

if sakuraba had noticed earlier he could have said something during the 2 minute break they took for the low blow
