If they are going in there with the attitude that since they make a wrestling game that is pretty good, then an MMA game should be easy, they are fucked. we'll thq made that pride video game for ps2 that cam out a coupl of yrs ago and it was decent but yea they ned to do better this time

If they put into detail what the have done with the Smackdown! series it is going to be a great game. They are huge fans of wrestling and in each SD game give the fans what they want. It should be no different with an MMA game. They will have the developers that are hardcore fans of the sport making the game and they will make it badass.

The thing that holds the Smackdown games together are the peripherals that are unique to wrestling - legends, outfits, weapons, entrances, music, finishing moves, signature moves, etc.

The combat itself peaked with Smackdown 2 - the one with Lesnar on the cover. Since then it has become progressively worse. Although I must admit that I have not played the next gen versions.

As I stated, I have not played the newest game.
The SD vs. Raw games were terrible. The collision software was brutal, the AI was slow, the angling was atrocious.

THQ has made some good wrestling game. but wrestling games are much more simple than an mma game. wrestling games by thq are slow. an mma games need to have so speed to it. there is this New 'David Douillet Judo' game out on PS2, Nintentdo Gamecube and PC. Its made by a UK/German company Big Ben Interactive and octale studios. here a link to the youtube trailer and the website translated through google (works well). this is the engine and the company that could make a great mma game. i'm ordering this game from ebay france (around $30)
