Who would win in a fight Sakuraba or Rickson

Who would win the Gracie hunter or the undefeated Gracie? It's rumored these 2 will square off some day in K-1 heros.

My vote is for Sakuraba

I'd pick Sakuraba simply because I don't believe the myth of Rickson until he gets off his ass and proves it. If it was a jiu jitsu match I'd go Rickson, but in MMA - until Rickson fights someone worth a shit, Sakuraba all the way.

Rickson is a 7th degree black belt in bjj.Royce is only a 5th.And Rickson is undefeated in mma and finished all his opponents.Plus he's won hundreds of bjj competions. No walk in the park for the Gracie hunter

Matt Boone 05-22-2006 09:42 PM

No walk in the park if it goes to the ground. Sakuraba is underrated on his feet, simply because he's always on the opposite side of someone like CroCop, V. Silva, Rampage, etc. He can bang, and if Rickson can't get him down he's in trouble. Even if he can, under MMA rules - it's by no means a guaranteed "in the bag" victory for Rickson. I still gotta see him fight, in a pro MMA bout, a top 10 fighter before just assuming based on his jiu jitsu credentials and overall myth, that he can walk in and dominate an MMA legend like Sakuraba.

heres the thing... Rickson is 50+ and hasnt fought in MMA since 2000, Sakuraba is coming off two wins at the age of 38 I believe and Sakus fighting style doesnt call for him to be very young, neither does Ricksons but hes older then Dan Severn is.. I think Saku wins it

No doubt that it will probably be a tough fight for Sakuraba. Though undefeated, Rickson's record in MMA is far from impressive. His most notable victory was over Masakatsu Funaki.

I'm still picking Sakuraba to win. Until the Gracies learn how to strike...

Rickson by armbar!! lol J/k It's hard to judge a fight like this when one guy hasn't fought in 6 years. From what Paulo Filho says, Rickson is still dominant and could take alot of people. I'm going with Saku on this one though, he's been far more active and has been fighting some top competition in Pride. He is the Gracie Hunter after all! I suck at predictions though so Saku will probably lose now.

Gracie over 400 wins undefeated age dont care Rickson can strike can grapple he cud sumit or pound sakuraba anytime Gracie 1 of da best fighters of all tym

Matt Boone 05-23-2006 01:07 PM

Can't deny the fact that Rickson has his "believers" out there. I don't even want to call them fans, it's not a big enough word. People BELIEVE in Rickson. All based on what other people SAY too, because it's not like these supporters see his imaginary 400-0 fights on tape or something.
